Once involved with a merger. A different market than Daz and RuntimeDNA, yet I tried to work through a Piss ant company buying one of the largest and oldest businesses in America. After they made a mess of things, I quit, along with many other people. As a version 1 user of Poser, been wanting to buy an upgrade. Not even worth it, with minimal, or changes of no interest. Wake up SM, the Reapers are looming over you and our once treasured quirky GUI program-Poser.

Quote from I believe a 2002 interview
"Macuarium. Is e-on software's intention to keep it alone or could it be merged with other large 3D/digital firms as Autodesk/Discreet or Nemetschek/Maxon?
e-on. Weโre actually quite happy to be alone! Imagine, nobody to tell us what we should do! We can dedicate 100% of our time to crafting tools that users will love!" http://www.macuarium.com/macuarium/actual/especiales/2002_08_02_e-ongb.shtml

The only ones that usually benefit from a buy-out are CEOs, not the consumer of the product. History proves that true.

While I have NOT worked for a 3D company experiencing a buy-out, I have experienced one small company (bringing fresh ideas) buying out one of the oldest companies in US. I was responsible for No California fulfillment (marketing), and it was a "disaster". Half the employees left. I have never heard of this company. Hope it is a positive action for our community. IMHO E-on Software catered to Hollywood.

AgentSmith said: the Front Page did have notice, the Community Forum here has given notices to the MP switchover. Wrong! And I'll give you specifics. If I am wrong provide me a link to assists others that will follow. 1. The main Index page has absolutely nothing regarding this change over with the exception of a banner that I presume is prompted by a 'next visit'. No details on the changes under the NEWS section. I scoured the page twice now. 2. I went through the Community forum back to Jan. 5th. Saw a few posts of no help, but nothing outlining detailed changes. Show me the link. Other forums usually have official posts from internal, placed at the top of the page. perhaps this was discussed a month ago. 3. The Calendar for Jan 16th shows nothing about this. I could see if it was minor which sites do on a daily basis. If it was my job even if volunteering, I'd put a link there going back to an outline of what changes were made and one under News. "nothing to see here folks, keep moving along".

Entered MP, then My Shopping Cart. Empty! Renderosity (R*) have some trick to bring products selected back or is it gone with the old MP? Luckily I only had three products, yet if R* had given us users some notice, I would have written them down. Hope the newsletter gave notice. Now I'll have to receive that too. Also in the Front page News, no mention of a site change. I've designed web sites and one ALWAYS lists a major change like this in the news section giving some details!
