Having a facebook page, unfortunately, helps with SEO. It is a necessary evil, like taking out the garbage. In fact, most garbage removal companies have a facebook page.
Thread: Who inspires you? Your Favorite Artist | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Maybe old school but one of my first inspirations, since before there ever was anything like Poser, was Frank Frazetta

Fragmented files is the main cause. Secondly if they are BOTH external hard drives, even if you are "directly" copying one to another, you are creating tons of temporary files on the internal hard drive of the host computer. Try installing one of the external as an internal (even better if both) and you will see the copy times tremendously increase.

XP-A used NTFS-5 whereas Win7 is using NTFS-7. Files and folder permissions for later NTFS versions are stored in the drive index and not in each individual file, which would explain the issue. Good idea when upgrading the Win7 to back up files, reformat the drives, and reload the files as he did. Â Â ÂThread: Why are people afraid of Gamma Correction? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Gamma correction is not just for CRT monitors, its for everything that prints or displays color images. Having spent many afternoons calibrating huge $15,000 large format printers in ad agencies and art departments, GC is crucial for not only PCs and MACs but for printing equipment and even the presses that print the Sunday supplements in newspapers. If the ad for Acme Soup in the Sunday supplement has a can with colors that are slightly off, then the client is slightly outraged and you've only slightly broken your contract.

A whole lot of "legend" about GC. It's entire purpose is accuracy. Whenever I walk into a big advertising agency the designers are on Macs and the room lights are off. Because Mac vid cards sync with Mac monitors on a hardware level, and coloration from room lights is avoided, the Mac screen, in the dark, will give an accurate GC. (No one mentioned you should have your room lights off to get true GC on your screen.)
The concept of GC was created so that the "golden arches" on one computer was the same color and brightness as on another, and as on a print ad. This is an absolute requirement in the advertising business. With Poser it seems the intention is to get a screen render that mantains the chroma and vibrancy of textures as they were created. This is all GC is -- a type of universal color language. It's nothing else, I promise you. Go research it.

Macs have hardware gamma correction so they have no need for software gamma correction. NVidia cards have a "sort of" gamma correction because the card doesn't actually sync gamma with the monitor.Â
The purpose of gamma correction is to get the proper accuracy of brightness and color ratios. For PC monitor viewing the GC is 2.2, but for printing (if you do have a high-end color printer) the GC is 1.0. Usually washed-out renders are due to IDL set up too high. Turn it down or, in-between buildings or indoors, turn it off. I rarely use IDL lights. Â

Thread: OT screens and subzero weather | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The cold temperature itself has no effect on electronics. However the moisture in the air freezes and attaches to the electronics as frost. If you try to turn them on immediately, the frost would melt and it would be like dipping the equipment into the bathtub. If you leave electronic gear out in the cold I suggest you bring them inside into room temperature and leave them 24 hours before trying to power them on.Â
I wouldn't leave any tablet, smartphone, laptop, or any other electronic gear in the car when the weather dips below 32 F.
Your in-dash electronics, on the other hand, is air-tight and moisture-proof so the cold does not effect those electronics.Â

Don't have IE installed but I hacked a couple files so the library will run without it. Loads lightning fast. I don't know why Smith Micro doesn't do the same.

What winterclaw said -- and when you've got that done, to go to the next level involves color theory. You should have a predominant color throughout the image (as in real life) and try to reach the entire dynamic range to (try to) imitate the true range of real light. ANd resolve yourself that you will always be a student of Poser - there are no masters.
To try an illustrate what I mean by dominate color, her'e one of my renders using a green as dominant:

CPU and memory are what its all about. A 64 bit systemboard and Win7 64 bit will make the memory far more efficient. Its also well worth the price to get a 6-core CPU even if you have to skimp on memory.Thread: Whats wrong with this picture | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

You can't do a reflection of a reflection in poser. The reflection is produced DURING the render and so it doesn't not exist until after the render is completed -- and so is non-existant for the second surface to reflect. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
