Thread: is there a way to focus, break, and refract light in Bryce 5 ? | Forum: Bryce
heh, that -is- a cool scene ^_^ Although i'm not looking to 'fake' it, because i'm lazy that way - i'm looking for a renderrer that -will- work with Caustics.
Besides the new Maya. that thing costs SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS !
... Now if it'd have [cencored] with me, cook my dinners, and cleaned my house, i might consider buying it, but the girlfriend might feel threatened. She feels i'm spending too much time at the computer as is...

that is exactly what i was thinking. Unfortunately i have an inner ear infection at the moment so staring at the screen for a little more time that it costs me to answer my emails and messages is not a really nice thought at the moment. but yes, likely the unlinking of scale would cease the deforming of the child groups.
Thread: Animating Deforms ! | Forum: Bryce
... actually, it didn't.. Now the invisibles begin to deform, taking the groups they are connected to, with them. But atleast i could now selectively link, so that the invisible objects will be the only ones that deform...

then why does the damned tail deform every single time i try it ? i need to make this robot animation for a small company that builds industrial robots - and if i don't meet the deadline, there's no bread on the table for me. sorry for the harsh response, but i'm getting a little frustrated by the whole thing...

Uh... BT ? And, using Null Objects doesn't work i'm heavilly under the impression that bryce can only handle so-many joints simultaneously, wich is a damn shame. Right now the only idea i have is to remake the animation entirely, by animating first the right half of the frames and then the left half, and combining the two. A less than subtle approach... And a shame, again, that Bryce isn't as versatile as i thought it'd be.

I would like it a crapload more if the tail moved like it's supposed to, in counter to the bob of the bot itself. And yes, left and right too, to counterbalance the walking on one leg.

I had the same problem in Poser 4, and now using 5... this definately Sucks ! And i know frame-per-frame Renderring. ^^ i'm not -that- much of a n00b ^^

it's not an option. Whenever i Render an animation, even to AVI, it turns out looking as though it is a 256 color GIF file- you know, with the odd 'bands' of luminescance and color running over the subject ? Somehow this happened to me with Poser4, too. I only got it to render correctly, ONCE. and that was by sheer chance.

Yes. But i can't get Poser to render animations at high colour values. Everything i do to render an animation to sepparate frames, i get 256 color value shite. And besides that, Poser renders notoriously slow. The exact same scene renderred in Poser and in Bryce, took poser more than twice as long to complete... And i am on a deadline here.

Ofcourse i'll share ! Just... >.< need to get it to actually work on files i haven't made myself...

Bah. Atleast i'm getting somewhere in writing a dirty little program that strips bryce saves and converts grouped objects into mesh objects. Polygonisation is fun - if it's automated. This is harder than i thought, though - and there can't be more than one group in the save. Other than that, i'm slowly but surely getting there. Maybe in a month or so, i'll have this beaten. Untill then, i'll give Wings a try.
