Carrara is fun and Carrara 6 pro can be found in the UK for free atm (for PC).
Heres an image I found just now in the Carrara forum that might give a good impression of what can be done:

Some Ati cards that work well with 3D apps including Poser[

Ati is very cost effective imo.

Thread: P7 SR1 makes things worse?!?!? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser 7 is buggy with or without SR1. 'Fix one bug and create another', seems to be poser 7evens motto.
Perhaps its because its so cheep and there's little in the way of competition from others with ready made characters. Except Daz.
I'm just annoyed at the mo because of Poser. I hope e-frontier get some competition like Sony did when WOW came along.
Mr Angry at the mo.
Thread: so does anyone have a PC powerful enough to render shadows in P7? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had the same problem with the Firefly render running out of memory. I found that my scene was 70mb because of a freeware patch of grass(duplicated 10x).
Check your file size, shadows, pol count and texture rez. No point in useing a hi-rez model at a distance(IMO)

My eyes are bigger than my wallet..lol
I'll stick with my Fire GL V3400 for now(still a good card IMO).
Thread: Widescreen monitor good (OT) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been meaning to swap from my computer monitor to my widescreen television(32inch/1080i) for a while now.
I didn't think the resolution would be as crisp until I read this thread. Thanx.
Do I have to buy a new cable like a 360 needs? Is that a DVI?

Thread: help removing props & animations | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - That's how i always do it anyway, i create my character ,pose it, light it, when complete that is saved and not overwritten when i start making the scene, the scene (with character) will always be saved as a seperate file.
Ditto:D

I kept on assigning the same walkpath to a figure on different layers. When it walked its legs were messed up. Like a crab..lol.

Thanks for the help:D
I went with the latter of the two options before I received a reply. I'll try your first method and see if it benefits my cause.
Thanks for the script also:D

Thread: Firefly problems. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the advise peeps.
I partly solved the render problem by ascertaining that the 'grass' was pushing the Poser file up from 7mb to 60mb. I deduced that each blade was being rendered separately and killing firefly rescources.
I'm going to upgrade my system ram to about 2gb seeing as I solely use poser.
Thanks for the replys.
