I think think the only way to do what you would like is to save the images as a .cbr file from the backgrounds tab and render a .jpg of the same name - you could then add a folder into Carrara

Folder name

some_hdri_or_background.cbr

some_hdri_or_background.jpg

They should then show up in Carrara

A bit time consuming, depending on the amount of images you have I know, but you should be able to drop them into the scene.

Another way is to add the background to the background tab and save the scene making sure to tick the "Save Scene Preview" option - again a bit time consuming

DRM as well as other protections may stop some people, but if history has shown us it's that it didn't help on DVD's, it didn't help on Bluray, and even Apple decided against it afrer a while. There are people out there who will crack it not because of monetary gain but purely to see if they can.

If major companies like Microsoft and others who pump millions into protections, who are still playing the cat and mouse game of fixing holes only to have people make new ones, I do not see how a small company like Daz will hold up.

I will use the older content I have as Daz still haven't released a version that can use Gen3 stuff, even though they claim they are working on one, I will just buy items from DRM free places

Sounds like they are trying to run a monopoly, you can only use content we make/sell in the program we make

Yes the daz apologists/white knights/attack dogs are always out in force should you say anything bad about daz, even if it's true

Did i say I was the entire market? No, but there are a lot out there like me, they may not be vocal but they are there, if Daz wants to go DS only they should have the guts to tell people so they can decide what to do and move on if they want to, Daz has never been the most forth coming and they wonder why people speculate about their motives

Carrara content isn't bought? I buy near all content, so this BS from Daz that Carrara ppl don't buy stuff is crap, if Daz wont support Carrara then obviously ppl wont make for it, so its a circular argument, if Daz has no desire to support Carrara it should just come out and say it.

Carra isn't a small community, and they could easily sell it to someone who does what to support it. People just dont buy content to use in Poser or Daz

I haven't nor will I be buying anything from Daz for the foreseeable future, they want to say FU to long term customers, well I can say FU to them, I have enough stuff I can use even if it is V4/M4.

If Daz want to use Genesis 3 which can only be used in DS (at this time, without issues) to monopolize the market for themselves that is up to them, doesn't mean I will help support them while they do it

Don't hold your breath that Daz decides to add support, even if they do, they dont have the people with the technical skills to do it anyway, look at their beta's and how well Genesis works in Carrara, they don't care about Carrara or bryce, just DS

So how do you get the eyes not to show as black? I have tried them as normal Carrara shaders, Octane water shaders, Octane glass shaders, and fully transparent, and yet the whole eye is always black, getting so pissed with it atm, I may dump the image I am doing, to just go back to doing scenes as characters are a complete pain in the arse.

Then again it could be the Carrara elite shaders messing me about

I have given up on Daz, I pointed out to the mods in the email I sent that it was not an attack or speculation as i beta tested C8 and C8.5 so i was fully aware of what Daz had done to it, so when I said it was a mismash i was speaking from expeience, they have yet to respond to my request explaining how having beta tested i could speculate on it being a mish mash.

I aslo asked them to prove it was speculation or an attack when i said daz didnt care about its customers, as they never bothered in over 3 months with the thread I made, and the fact i am hearing how disgusted people are with the way daz has treated them.

I still havent had a response nor do i expect to, as I know they cannot prove either, yet what they have accused me of is excatly the thing they are doing to me, attacking and speculating as to why I am saying what i am.

So F**K Daz - I hope they go bust

Sorry but it is bassed on what I have seen and have had done to me by daz, we all know daz doesnt like the facts being told to the masses so do what ever you like as this proves my point excatly, you silence people, I have used C8.5 since it was beta so when I say it was slapped together i know that foir a fact as I BETA TESTED IT.

Please show me where my post was an attack, and please show me how it was speculation when daz THEMSELVES have said they are more interested in being a BROKERAGE, they have said it in the forums.

They say the truth hurts, and you may be able to silence me on the daz forums, but you can silence me everywhere

So now I am 100% done with them, this is how they treat "customers" like crap just because some of us have the guts to stand up to them

I have done the same although I have not had Plat club for a while, but I have gone a step further and jut given up on anything Daz.

They treated me like dirt, and that is something I will not forget
