Re-sent. :)
And thank you for getting back to me on this. Technical issues crop up everywhere. It's how folk respond to them to rectify matters that makes the biggest impression.

Ugh! It extends to the forums too? This is... bleargh. Meh I'll come back in a day or so when hopefully you've fixed this mess.

So often a change of mind is seen as a sign of weakness. It is good that at here at rendo that re-evaluating ones position, whether this way or that, is seen as a positive action :)
A change of mind means that you actually continue to think about things instead of refusing to see new facets of a thing. It does not invalidate your former opinions and thoughts at all to come to a new conclusion later, as situations DO change over time.
hugs Don't fear, this is a good thing and many will respect you for it.
Thread: Coming Back | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is my opinion based on my experiences.
I was a dedicated longterm DS-only user for years. DS4 convinced me to make the jump (and the investment) to Poser. I figured if I was going to be forced (and really, unless I wanted to severely limit my new content aquisition, there really was no choice at all) to learn a completely new program and workflow then I'd go with the program that had adequate documantation, a reasonable update/upgrade path and more useful stock tools.
I do not regret having spent the money and making the switch. At all.
As for the Gen4/Genesis figure question, I'd be willing to say that Genesis has not and likely will not dominate the market (except for at the Daz store). Its lack of compatibility with programs other than Daz Studio 4 (and serious lack of backward compatibility with previous versions of Studio) truly limit its usefulness to anyone but Daz Studio 4 users.
The majority of the people I associate with don't care for Genesis and I'm really with them in not having any interest in the figure or products made for it. I personally will not be investing cash or hard drive space on the Genesis figure. It offers me nothing I want that I don't already have in my current arsenal of humanoid figures.

I don't understand that rationale. Honestly, I simply don't understand things like collecting comments for the sake of numbers or running up post counts on community boards or any of that sort of thing.
That's not a criticism, BTW. It's honest bafflement.
I always figured that if someone feels strongly enough for good or bad about a work of art someone has displayed, they'll say something about it (for better or worse). When I post a comment, there is no other motive but an appreciation of the presented visual. But I guess that's just me.

These are total must-haves. I'm serious. Every piece looks great, fits great and poses great. So if you like rendering Vicky and don't have these yet... well GET them.
Thread: Renderosity FreeStuff - Allow External Hosting Petition | Forum: Freestuff
I fully support this petition.
As I am migrating my freebies to be hosted on my store's server over on Poser Addicts 2, I find it highly annoying that the current Rendo freebie policy does not allow me to properly update my links OR add new ones to fresher work. This inconveniences my fans and doesn't make them look at Rendo all that kindly.
**While I don't mind having advertising on my freebies pages, I DO want some control over which products MY work is supporting. ** The last thing I want to be associated with is sleazy Vickywear or Vicky characters that look like oversexualized jailbait.
While I think it's very cool that Rendo hosts freebie files, I prefer to be able to choose where they are being hosted. While linking to my files from Rendo increases my exposure, it also increases traffic to Rendo and boosts Rendo's sales from my fans. I don't have to do this. I get a great deal more exposure from Share CG and Daz. Since this policy has been instated, I have not uploaded a single freebie to Rendo and have, in fact, been removing my links from Rendo. That's bad for YOUR business. Not mine.
Food for thought.
You're not doing yourselves any favors.

Thread: WHERE do Daz Studio users prefer thier DS MAT poses should be packed up in a Run | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - Just my two cents, but I always put my Daz Studio mats in this directory:
**DazStudio/content/materials/**MBAY/mats
Most Daz users will change them to where they like them, but at least here I know they'll work.
Kris
I've been told that this (above) is actually the correct directory structure for DS mats. When I used to put them elsewhere, my users all carped at me about it till I went back and redid them in that structure sequence.
Thread: The Galleries at Daz | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I dunno, I don't even look at them anymore. They're perpetually filled with a genre I find cloying, trite and distasteful: the skimply dressed, overtly suggestive female model shot. It's not worth digging through a barrage of images I dislike to harvest the one or two bits of something different and interesting that make it through.
