Thread: May challenge.. no postwork =) | Forum: Photography
I'm guessing this month's theme is "straight outta the camera" or something similar... The first one doesn't do much for me personally. I see a good shot at framing, but otherwise, not my bag. The second image is a wonder of lighting, reflections, and colour. What we have is a scene dominated by various shades of green (mostly seeming to have a yellowish tint to it, but no postwork allowed, right?), with a reddish/brown misture being the green's background of sorts, appearing in the background and on the insect itself. 2 small areas with the same shade of blue, one small area to the left with a dash of yellow. Colours are beautiful, as is the creature. Oh yeah, hiya guys, those who remembah me. ry

Thread: Tweakin PS under Win98/ME systems | Forum: Photoshop
I only use ME because XP doesn't agree with my soundcard, and with the M-Audio Quattro being a 400$ piece of hardware, it's more than worth it for me to work in WinME to do my sound stuff (which to me is more important than the graphic work) where the drivers actually function (the driverts for the quattro have long been known to be inconveniences for almost every OS, it's kinda random as to which OS will work best for each person). Basically, my only problem with PS7, that I can see, is when opening te Blend Modes window on a layer, which I don't believe existed before PS 6, nevermind 5. Everything else seems to juice fine. Come to think of it, I prolly won't install XP at all if that's my only problem... I just wish there was a way around it.

in the last issue of wired I believe (With Linux Torvalds on the cover... maybe it was this months instead?) there was a small article on internet porn fakers. Would be an interesting read in regards to this. It should be available on the net. Go to wired's site, WIRED MAG, and search Gillian Anderson... seriously... incidently, anyone see her new hair style? SHe's even hotter than hot now!
Thread: Photoshop CS Memory Handling? | Forum: Photoshop
maybe so, but at least you'll be able to have photoshop, poser, and anything else you need running at the same time AND at full capacity... I'm gonna be going triple boot soon, WinME (for audiop stuff, XP and 2K don't like my M-audio quattro), RedHat for Maya, and only maya (as it didn't like XP or 2K either), and XP Home for everything else... Mainly gonna be adding my old XP recovery disks back into the mix because while Photoshop runs fine on ME, it did run a lot better on XP, which begs the question, if I turned off my scratch disk entirely (about 60 gigs of it free), and just ran on the 512ddr memory, think it'd run better on WinME? I'd rather not have to install XP again...
Thread: Art Major | Forum: Animation
Concordia University, in Montreal Quebec, Canada. The fine Arts program has the Film Animation Major. Plenty of schools have animation programs. If you only wanna deal with the computer aspect, register in a trade school (some in montreal are Center NAD, CINAQ, and there are others). If you wanna do video games, apply to Digipen in Vancouver. Look around. maybe animation isn't what you want after all, if ya did, you would've been looking and already found out about some schools that offer animation, and whether or not those schools have it listed under fine arts, communications, home economics or Health Science.
Thread: Nikon N55... | Forum: Photography
use counterfeit money when you buy it so you can use the real money for more lenses. or you can just use counterfeit money both times... yeah, that'd make more sense. just make sure the camera's right for you is all. If it has features you find unecessary (like auto modes and whatnot), don't waste your (counterfeit) money. If it has everything u need, it's a nikon, so it'll be money well spent.
Thread: Photoshop CS on Win 98/ME - quick rant | Forum: Photoshop
On a Pentium 4, 2ghz, with 512 ddr ram, Photoshop CS would run fine on a WinME system. It is a question of technical support most likely, and not that they couldn't handle it (they could before afterall), it's that they don't have to if the installer and software search for 2K or XP beforehand, and just refuse to function on it. someone please hack it...

Thread: Need Advice On Lighting Set-Ups | Forum: Photography
I'd recommend going with 60w light bulbs for the hallway. You don't want to be blinded, but ya gotta see where you'er going! With the bathroom, 100w because ya gotta make sure the makeup is applied evenly and whether or not that pesky razor burn under the arm pits is gone yet so you can wear that sexy new halter top to the cafe. The computer room best to have subdued lighting, soft and shadowless. No strain on the eyes, and no colour issues with the monitor. The fridge just needs any light. No one wants to mistake last weeks fermenting stew with the jello chocolate pudding...

Thread: Photoshop CS on Win 98/ME - quick rant | Forum: Photoshop
when I say "With any luck, someone will hack it so it'll run on the older OSes", I don't mean a pirated version of the software itself, just a hack for fully registered versions so that the people who paid way too much for it to begin with don't have to pay for a Windows upgrade as well just for the privelidge...
