I flew the RF-4. We were on the other side of the altitude equation when we took pics. We also had a saying. "Yea though I fly through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the fastest SOB in the valley."
I flew against a lot of airplanes and on the deck, the only plane faster was the F-111.
Fun Times.

Recently went to win 11. I haven't really created anything new, but updated several old Bryce renders and everything seems to work OK. The one thing I wish they would fix is the Spray render tool, I used to use that a lot to blend terrains.

I get that you want to hang on to Win7, but support for that system will end. I have old legacy laptops and computers running Win10 and it is a very reliable and fast OS. I am not trying to get you to change, but if you were to do so, I think you would like it. I have used Windows since it started. I managed to stay away from the goofier iterations, that being said, I am completely sold on Win 10. It's stable, it's reliable, and as long as you set your system to only update when you have had a chance to review potential problems online, you will be fine.
I found this video "https://www.bryce-tutorials.info/bryce-tutorials/bryce-nuts-bolts-large-address-aware/" for large address aware and Bryce.
I am going to do this myself today as I didn't know this was a problem although I stopped using Bryce because it was having problems. Back to the drawing board I guess.
Thank you Thunderstone.

Thank you, finding the same thing myself. Either doesn't work or crashes. Thank you for the confirmation. B

Please note the last part of the spray render description in the Palettes/Advanced Display Palette/Spray Rendering where it indicates you can use the spray tool "in the render mode". That mode is not working for me. When I click on the spray tool while in the render mode, it just takes me back to wireframe instead of allowing use of the toll in render mode.

Thank you. I actually have that book. I know how it is supposed to work but it isn't working that way when I try to use it. I have been busy doing other things but I am going to try again this week.
Thank you Don

Thank you for responding.
I used to be able to use it not in wireframe. I have used it in pictures already rendered so you could blend in other materials while watching what it would do to the render. The mountains in this example were done that way. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/viking/1784830/?p
I will keep working at it. I thought I had some notes in my Bryce 4 tutorial book but it seems to be eluding me at the moment.

Thread: Specific Material for render | Forum: Bryce
Thunderstone, Thank you for your post. I was unable to find the material on sharecg. I checked all materials and spent about an hour on the site. Thank you so much for the reference. I have pretty much recreated the render but for that one picture, that one material was pretty cool. I have spent hours in Bryce trying to do something similar. I guess a lot of experimentation is ahead of me.

Thread: Setting in Bryce to use all the cores in the CPU | Forum: Bryce
Thank you for your reply. I also have an old I7 2600 that is still rolling along. I will try the High Priority setting which I hope will use all 4 cores.. I am having to go back and re-render many of my early Bryce images as stretching them from the old 800x600 render to now 1920x1080 has resulted in some anomalies. I basically render pics for myself to use as backgrounds. Thank you for your help, Don

Used Bryce since the late 90's, not an artist and not especially knowledgeable, don’t post much because I really can’t answer questions, but I enjoy lurking here on the forum to see what folks are posting about Bryce. I find the discussions interesting. Don't have time to do a lot but have put a few renders in the gallery this year.
