Is it saying something about a side-by-side configuration? If so, that's actually a Windows thing. Updating your 32-bit Visual C++ ought to fix it.
Google "microsoft visual c++ 2008 sp1 redistributable package (x86)" and the first thing that comes up should be the Microsoft download page for that updater.

Are you running the SR1.1 updater? The SR1.2 updater is for Poser Pro, not Poser Pro 2010, and so it won't work if you have Poser Pro 2010 installed.

I've got P8 SR1 running on 10.5.8, but haven't seen this myself. But then I don't have a lot of external runtimes or very large ones, so that may have something to do with it. Contact the Smith Micro tech support and tell them about it. http://support.smithmicro.com
