So as best as I could ultimately determine the conflict was due to Mac's decision to no longer support Flash and how that interacted with Poser 9. I bought the $99.00 upgrade to Smith-Micro Poser Pro 11, thinking I would then have to upgrade further to Poser 11.3. However, Bondware did everything automatically and I am looking at (Bondware) version 11.3, which works. It is importing P9 docs strangely (a missing shoulder or texture here and there, asking me for the location of non-existent objects), but I think I will hammer these out in time. It beats the heck out of a complete shut-down.
Does anyone know of a forum or other resource (perhaps a page # in the 1000+ page user's manual) explaining how to transfer items from Runtime sub-folders for the older version to the corresponding sub-folders for Poser 11 without screwing anything up? Intuitively, it seems like one would just drag the items from the older sub-folders to the new ones, but I have too much time into the docs to want to guess.
Thanks

Hi. You seem familiar with serial number issues. I just bought the Poser 11 upgrade (from Poser 9) for $99.00, with the plan to upgrade to Poser 11.3. I am at the "Product Registration" screen and it is prompting me to enter my serial number for Poser 11 (not the Poser 9 serial number, which is on a separate, lower line and marked "Not required." I have no idea how to find that. Where do I find the serial number for the product that I just bought and downloaded, Poser 11.0?
Thanks

Re the Flash issue, yes, I tried that. Nothing changes - the new version is not recognized by Pose. I am running El Capitan (10.11.6) at this point (after changing from some earlier version so that I could install the latest version of Flash for Poser). Catalina is 10.15 and I have never had it installed. I am resigned to buying a later version of Poser at this point.
Please explain the comment about it phoning home every 9 days or it stops working. As far as I know, this was not the case with any prior version of Poser (i.e. 5 and 9). Why would SM or Bondware incorporate such a feature?
Lastly, if I do the upgrade, doesn't that just get me to Smith Simth Microsystems Poser 11.0, which will not work unless I do the upgrade to Bondware's Poser 11.2?

I am (or was, until recently) running Poser 9 on a Mac. It stopped working, giving me the "Poser Content Library cannot be displayed because it requires the Adobe Flash Player" message. This correlated in time with SM's transfer of Poser to Bondware. While I get mixed messages from different sources, based on the number of people with identical issues it seems like the one was somehow related to the other. While I sympathize with daron316's comment, I want to get this fiasco behind me and have a functional version - ANY functional version - of Poser. In that regard, it also looks like if I pay the $99 upgrade fee, all I will get from the sole available link (https://www.posersoftware.com/store) is a non-functional SM version of Poser 11.0, and will have to upgrade from that point (for free, I think) to the Bondware Poser 11.2 from another link (https://www.posersoftware.com/downloads), which should work on my Mac. Am I correct?

Thanks for the detailed, informative answer. If I want to keep doing art on Poser (and want to preserve the stuff I have already generated), what is your suggestion as the best course of action? From your description, it sounds as if Flash has become a moot point with respect to Poser 11, and if I just bite the bullet and upgrade I should be OK. As part of this clusterpuck I upgraded to MacOS 10.11.6 (El Capitan), which apparently supports Poser 11. Also, I can apparently upgrade from Poser 9 for $99.00. Is this a sound strategy or am I missing something? (thanks again for the explanation - I love the art but hate the tech).

Uh, yeah. So it appears Bondware reached into my computer without consent and "ugraded" my copy of Poser, so now it is broken unless I spend another $100 to further upgrade to Poser 11 (IF that fixes the problem)? Otherwise, not upgrading anything for years would result in a static situation in which Poser continued to operate as it always has. While stuff does indeed happen to individual computers as a result of age and use, when that stuff is the failure of a specific program accompanied by the more or less simultaneous specific error message experienced by multiple users having nothing to do with each other, one can rule out individual computer failure. How do I return my Poser to its pre-"upgrade" status?

The renders are stored on the computer (exported and stored, for the most part as pngs, as I render), and there are hundreds, all intact, backed up (along with other stuff) on an external hard drive and carbonite, so I think they are fine. By the "art I have generated" I am referring to the "parent" Poser documents, without which I can no longer improve that art, at least 3-dimensionally speaking. The message is "Poser content library cannot be displayed because it requires the Adobe Flash player. Please click below to install. Get Flash." I push the "Get Flash" link and says select an operating system and the only Mac systems available are 10.10 to 10.14. Going directly to the Flash site gives the same range. I am running 10.7.5, which has not been a problem (vis-a-vis Poser) for the last several years. Based on "Software Update" I believe this is the newest system software my computer can use. What upgrade are you referencing? I have not knowingly upgraded anything in a very long time on this computer, including Poser, Flash or the system software. I have not needed to do so.

Noona writes ".. but why all of the sudden? It worked fine for years .." I am running up against the exact same thing (same message etc). I have not downloaded squat for years - no updates to Poser, no new system software, no "Flash" updates. Stuff happens, and if it was just me I would assume this Mac was just getting old (which is the case). However, the consistency among different users suggests someone (Smith Microsystems?) reached into my computer without my permission and did something to prevent me from using Poser 9 so that I would have to shell out $100 for the update to version 11 or lose the art I have generated over the last several years. Am I missing something? How many people are dealing with this BS?
Thread: Poser 5 bogs down after extended use? (On Macintosh). | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have a related but different problem. I am using a dual-G5 1.8 Gig Mac with 1 gig of memory. It handles most things fine. However, when doing a big render, it runs out of memory. As far as I can tell, I cannot reallocate memory in System 10.3. When I go into System 9, which allows one to reallocate memory (normally), it will not allow me to reallocate memory for P5, so I am stuck with what I guess are the factory defaults or something (128 megs). Is there any way to crakn allocated memory up to 500 megs or so? Is there a way to reallocate memory in System 10, but Mac has (for whatever reason) hidden it? Any help from any Mac gurus would be appreciated.

I agree with Redfern, especially since P4 did have female muscle morphs. Also, female muscle morphs do not seem to be contained within the P3 figures on the instalation disk referenced by DavistJ. You can approach a gymnast/superheroine etc. build by tweaking the graph in the paraneters, but this is a headache which really only seems to work on the limbs (not, for instance, on the abdomen). Although my wallet is still aching from buying Poser V for the Mac, I would spend a few bucks on some morphs. Is anyone developing/selling them? Bichworth
