Thanks all. Sounds like I should stick with Intel with a separate graphics card and not shared graphics (I don't really like sharing anyway - never did, ever since I was two).

How much does Maya cost? One of the great things about Poser was it was in the price range of a hobbyist and not just professionals.
Thread: Poser Update BETA 118 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Although I haven't installed any of the patches (as Poser has been very stable on my machine and I haven't encounterd many issues), I too would just like to express my sincere appreciation for all the development team's efforts in continuing to support this wonderful program. I have used Poser since Poser 1 and have always accomplished much with it. Thank you.

Memory can't be the problem. I am still running 56megs on a old machine and don't have problems with poser or eve. And I have another machine that has 32megs and it runs poser too.

Thread: Pz3 to Cr2 converter. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think you're right, but I understood that the converter stripped out alot of the unnessary items (lights, cameras, etc) thus making the file size a little smaller. I guess I could do that with Compose or the Cr2 Editor.

Ok, still won't work for me. It could be it can't get past my workplace firewall. I will try it at home.

Looks good, but I am still using a Pentium I 200mhz, and no hardware acceleration so the hardware requirements are a bit steep for me. Looks great though, probably have a look when I upgrade.
Thread: Sketch Render Doesn't Apply to Figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok. I think I follow you. Render your image (including any figures) normally (not sketch render) since transparencies, etc. show up in normal renders. Then make this rendered image a background in a second scene, hide or delete any poser figures, and sketch render the background. I will try this. Thanks for the tip.
Thread: Sketch Render Doesn't Apply to Figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You are right, the sketch renderer doesn't do transparencies (it just sketches in the transpareny pattern), but I figured out the problem was the "color" setting for the figure. It was moved all the way to the right which for some reason made the figure not render in sketch mode. When moved over to the left and put on a very low setting, the figure sketched along with the background. It seems to me though, even if the slider is all the way to the right, shouldn't it just add a lot of color to the sketch? Oh well, I will continue to experiment.
