Thread: Poser 11.2 vwey slow after windows 10 Update (KB4601319) | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Since the posting of my earlier "fix", other updates to Windows have returned my own copy of Poser 11 to such slowed functionality that with DAZ gen 4 figures things are as slow as they were before. I guess it is finally time to eithr buy Poser 12, or learn how to use DAZ, which I hate due to its horrible interface and inability to install content to anything other than C drive without requiring massive and constant modifications. Or maybe just time to find a new hobby.

I had the same issue with Poser 11 slowdown as you did following the forced Windows update. I am running Poser 11.3.818.
After checking the updates in settings, I found that there were optional updates that Windows did not inform me of until I looked. These are the ones listed in the attached image as having been applied 3/27/2021. After applying the optional update and restart, I found that Poser responded much better than it did. I'm not sure it's quite as fast as before, but much faster than after the first update. Usable now with no "click lag" on graphic UI items, which had been my main problem, also preview movement much improved.
Thread: Paypal Vanished in marketplace? | Forum: Community Center
Yes, that's correct. More specifically when I click on the "pay through PayPal" button on the confirm purchase page. It then takes me to PayPal where I receive an error message saying something to the effect of "invalid transaction, please return to merchant site and go through their normal check-out".

Every time I try to use paypal using the paypal buttons in the store, PayPal gives me an error message. I then pay Rendo manually and have to send a message to one of the store staff to get my payment credited. Been doing that for about 6 months. Everything other PayPal online store I use works like it is supposed to.

Thread: Search Feature: Galleries vs Forum | Forum: Community Center
The gallery search is my largest single problem and antietk expressed the problems with it clearly. You can't search by both chronology and any other given criteria (including artist) as you could before. The large "genre" search section over on the left does not make up for the removal of the "within last X days months years" feature that is now gone. The old way, you could find whatever image you wanted by artist, description and time the image was posted. Now you can only find "newer to older" or vis versa, making any targeted search a hit or miss proposition. The older search was faster and more specific and far less frustrating and annoying than its replacement.
Thread: What was the point of the site redesign? | Forum: Community Center
I've got to say, change for change's sake is not always good. And this series of changes essentially amounts to fixing things that weren't broke and accidentally breaking them in the process. Sorry guys, but this site re-design is the "New Coke" formula of user-supported computer art websites. My recommendation as a former business owner is to restore all the lost functionality, not worry about your site not looking like a phone app (who makes Poser and Daz art on their smart phones???), and listen to the majority of your customer base while you still have one. Not meaning to be harsh here, but the psychology of human group think tends to circle the wagons around organizational mistakes and seeks to rationalize and defend them, instead of correct them while there is still time to do so. If the site needs increased market share, come up with a new desirable product line to sell instead of re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I don't think I'm telling you anything now that your balance and P&L sheets aren't going to tell you later. I tell you this not as some griper and chronic complainer, but as a customer who has spent literally thousands of dollars here for over a decade.

No official word, and I wouldn't expect any, either, since there would have to be some sort of internationally recognized legal action. I paid for 'em, they weren't ripped out of the game itself, so I'm sitll using them.
Interestingly, Eidos (soon to be Square Enix EU), allows and encourages the actual game models to be ripped and fan art using the ripped models is all over the official TR forum and the much larger un-official TR forum. In response to magicmooddesigns above, if it's TR porn you're worried about, it now proliferates in vast profusion using the actual models and textures from the latest Tomb Raider game, all with the unstated but evident blessing of Eidos itself.

I think that's an excellent idea 722, and a very good point about the value of the free publicity (particularly during the downtime between game releases). They could use the help.
I think I know that Eidos has exactly one guy and one guy only responsible for world wide customer relations/fan interaction right now for Tomb Raider (they plus up a little for other games that have a launch soon, but TR won't have another game lauch for quite some time), no webmaster for their site with the ability to add new stuff, and are, as usual, sort of bureaucratically stuck in time while they sell their company to the Japanese makers of the Final Fantasy games (Square Enix). I'm very much suprised they found the time to spank the vendors here, certainly a delayed reaction in the case of the Irina Adventuress stuff, that's been around for at least four years already.
Point of all that is that I suspect they lack the ability/vision/interest at the management level to do something that makes as much sense for them as what you described, 722.

Somebody said it before, I'll point it out again- Eidos owns Tomb Raider, not EA. Eidos is being bought out by Square Enix.
The Eidos folks have been aware for over a year that certain vendors (who I myself of course patronize) had produced items that were very similar to certain trademarked properties owned by Eidos. They were asked by a couple of folks in the Eidos Tomb Raider forums if they had any problem posting Poser fanart made using those products.
While the Eidos website/fan affairs people apparently had no problem with this, somebody in legal evidently did have a problem with it.

Hehe, thanks! Well googlies, FP, you're "Model Citizen!" I've got an unassembled Exousia Studios Lara model sitting about on the strength of that fine example you assembled and painted and discussed on the web. I have the slightly newer model with the longer gun barrels and bare feet (bare everything, in fact), according to Ray, the first of that variation.
