Stan,
In your precedent post, you speak about modeling in the assembly room…
Sometimes I uses it on characters or on clothing but if they are posed, they return to the zero pose, which is not quite practical.
Is this better in C8.5 ?
Thread: Are there any creators that take requests for character morphs? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
In spite of the fact that we are on the DS forum, I'm completely of agreement with you, Stan.
But when I saw since the homepage the DAZ clip “DAZ in action”, it's normal that a not initiated believe that “DAZ Studio” = “DAZ”, because the other programs are ignored…
It should be said that DS is their child, the others were adopted.
Moreover, the other programs are programs of creation while “DAZ Studio” is a program of composition of scenes with the contents of the store.
It is thus normal that they try to sell their stuffs to the greatest number, even to people who don't know anything with the 3D…

Your name ?
Isn't in the "Comments" that you can write it ?
Scene preview looks to me that's an image, but where ?
Thread: Dynamic (Soft Body) clothing | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Poser dynamic clothing works very well and for free into DAZ, but... DAZ CARRARA !
Use the script "Dyn to morph" and import de scene .pz3 into Carrara, it's very easy.

Stan, I always wondered what does this option, can you explain me ?
SFF, I started to look at your tuto which interests me, but my Flash player stops the image all the time… As soon as I solved this problem, I look at it.

Thanks for your explanations, I did'nt know the difference between Normal and Color map, in my french version, it's the same word...
Thanks again !

You are right too, in French, it's difficult to make the difference.
I don't want to oppose you, but the normal map works well in the glow Channel and also especially in the alpha channel…

You speak about displacement, I suppose that it is in the texture room… have you tested displacement with the brushes ?, they are very precise.
You could also try to apply the texture of a wall, to see what is the result (the rear wall looks good)…

Hi Stan,
I suppose that the physical calculations, it's for all the rigid objects of the scene… Then, why are you not convert them into keyframes ?
I automatically do that for each object, and sometimes, I convert into NLA clips or save this part of the scene in my objects library.
In this manner, I can work on another element of the scene without having all to recompute.
Saving in the library works for soft body too, but we cannot convert these simulations into keyframes.

Thread: The Octane Render plugin for Carrara is now available! | Forum: Carrara
Thank you for your explanations, Dust Rider.
I didn't look at this thread any more on DAZ forum because I didn't understand well the Octane render's advantages compared to that of Carrara.
Now that I understood well thanks to you, I realize that it's especially interesting for still images because in animation, one uses sometimes hair, also for grass etc...and if we wants to keep a homogeneity in the sequences, it isn't possible in this case.
I have two questions all the same:
1-What about particles, clouds etc.?
2- Does we have obligatorily to use the plugin for Carrara or can we do the work directly in the standalone version ?
I post this here, because they are to much specialists in the DAZ forum and I'm afraid that my questions are too basic...
Thank you again.
PS: your render with the Stonemason towers is very impressive !
Thread: 8.5 worth it? | Forum: Carrara
There was an answer from a member of DAZ, two good news: they will replace Carrara in the softwares and the second (very important), DAZ communicate again !!!
Thread: Wips for critiquing | Forum: Carrara
If they were like that, I could make the effort be believer !
More seriously, I also think that the arch is badly lit and one does not locate it very well in the scene.
An indirect lighting could make the deal.
For the broken glasses, you should use a fractal embossing in the texture because one wonders if it's not water.
Good work all the same !
