I think even the stanchest ant-poser CG bigot has to agree that in the right hands it can and has produced breathtaking results. Seems like the issue at hand with some of these poser-haters isn't that the program is incapable of producing good looking work, it's that most poser users arn't doing the modeling. Many of these folks do their own modeling, uv work, skinning, lighting and rendering and they look down on those of us who skip some of these stages by using pre-made meshes like Victoria. Quite frankly, I'd LOVE to be able to model something even CLOSE to what Daniel Moreno did with this piece, but I lack the skill and more importantly, the experience. Until I get there (if I ever do), I will continue to love Poser for what it is and what it allows me to do.

Wow that is one impressive image, thanks for the share! It really doesn't look like the BVH version, IMHO. Look at those shoulders...now THAT's how they are SUPPOSED to look. LOL

Who cares about a box? Sure, any printed manual material would have been nice, but I got news for you. The downloadable version came with a Reference Manual, and a Tutorial Manual. Each one is over 350 pages! I printed them on a nice color printer at work and took them to Kinko's for them to bind for me. These babies are MASSIVE and there is no way in hell you could have fit them both in a box I think. Really, I think the only thing I am missing is the quick reference card. It came included as a PDF, but a nice laminated fold out card would be nice. Not nice enough to wait 3 weeks for, though. =)

I agree that the teeth in particular suffer in the 2nd pic. I would almost be tempted to render both and then bring them into photoshop for a little "best of both worlds" merging. =) Really really cool to see this experimentation, thanks to you both!!
Thread: Facial asymmetry...why isn't it more widely used?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I saw a rather detailed hour long show about physical beauty and atttractiveness on one of the Discovery channels which DID make those correlations. In fact, one rather facinating part of the study was that they had 4 men with varying degrees of facial symmetry wear a tee shirt for 12 hours. They then gave the tee shirt to some women for them to rate the smells on an "attractveness scale. Interestingly enough, the shirts the women liked the most belonged to the men with the most symmetric faces. Pretty wild. On the other hand, the show pointed out that PERFECT symmetry is vauglely unsetteling to most people. We seem to instinctivly know that perfect symmetry is impossible and therefore looks 'unreal'. I wish I could remember the name of the show.
Thread: A FIX for my crashing to desktop in P6! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, although it WAS true that shutting down tablet.exe was fixing it, I thought before I emailed CuriousGeorgeLabs I would bring my Nvidia drivers up to current so as to avoid them telling me that. Guess what?? 66.93 updated to 71.84 and I no longer have to close down tablet.exe. I feel like a dork for not eliminating that FIRST. I should know better. Anyway, hope that helps someone else. Happy rendering.
Thread: Poser 6 crashing problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I ran into this as well, but I discovered if I use task mangager to shut down any and all tasks I possibly can before launching Poser I can get it to run great. I will try and figure out which programs cause the issues by testing and shutting down task by task but I want to PLAY now instead!
Thread: Poser 6 crash instantly when trying to save | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had the same thing happen to me with the app dropping me back to desktop whenever I tried to do anything like switch rooms, save etc.. I popped up the task manager and started shuttng down any and all tasks running on my comp. I shut down everything I possibly could, and now I've been using Poser 6 for a few hours without crashing. It HATES something I was running obviously. Tomorrow if I get bored I'll try shutting down each task 1 by one and testing until I narrow it down to what program is causing the problems.
Thread: HOW DO YOU ALL KEEP UP???!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I hate to miss someone's fantastic work. I was thinking about writing a bot to download gallery pics for me while I am at work, but then I can't read and send comments, and I can't read the artists initial comments, or even know who it was that posted it. So that's out. I guess I will just have to look when I can and miss a lot. Either that or I need to save up for the computers and the pygmies. I will check out Firefox though. Everyone keeps telling me about it, so there must be something to it. hehe SteveJax, you DO realize you are reading and posting in a forum don't you? LOL Irony. ;-) Thanks for your thoughts people! I really appreciate it!
