I guess when it comes down to it, folks want to feel safe. Yeah, the internet is a big place and we can't just click on everything willy nilly, but at the same time, we can't just let everyone post virus links willy nilly in a forum that we consider a community. There has to be a balance. If the pendulum swings to the extreme on this, I suspect it will swing back in time.

Ok I tried to edit but I don't have permission, so here is my next post..
I understand that inbred is bad. That said, this community has a lot of beta testers and alpha testers and programmers here. I beta tested several softwares. I tried the alpha testing but I prefer to break things in a sandbox than to write code. There is no need to be concerned about loss of information because those folks are here on Rendo.
So folks can post good tuts here and build the tut forums.
I hope that the attacks on Hope and the owner, Tim, will stop. I want to come to a clean forum where the community gets along. Since the departure of some former admins has occurred, this forum has gotten better.
If you want to post a tut, walk us through it like I did.
If you want to share your knowledge, share it directly.

ice, the only tutorial I posted was here at rendo...
https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2877151
The interesting thing is that Rendo can't find it in the rendo search engine and I was told that it likely was gone. Mr. Google found it and that's the link.
So if the big issue is folks who don't like the idea that their links are not allowed here, perhaps the work around is to get to know us and let us get to know you.

I am in agreement with this policy and support it. Hope, I'm sorry you are under attack. Stand firm.
The only time I post freebies, I upload them here. A freebie is a freebie. I don't use freebies for commerce to get folks to see my websites. If I give something away as free, then that is what it is.
If I recall correctly, DAZ has the same policy. Click on a freebie and it comes from DAZ, not some other site.
For those who think that linking is unfair, consider the people that abuse that. I have deviantart permanently on block because I have visited too many artist galleries that had viruses. I contacted them and not sure who responded but I was told that there is no control over the dot or . subdomains. Many are honorable. It takes one jerk to ruin it for all.
I am pleased to see that Rendo is reigning in the chaos and building a community. We are here. This is our city, our town, our community. Yes, we know there are other communities out there. That's fine. This is where I choose to be as is true for many others. I might go vacation some day in another community, or maybe even do the snowbird thing and buy a time share, but home is home and there's no place like home.
Thank you, Hope, I will be more willing to visit people's websites and check them out once I know they are good, stable, honest, upright people. And the only way I can learn that is by their reputation here at Rendo.

hborre, yes I did learn that google is a faster and better search engine. I was disappointed that my tut on the Latham was no longer available on Rendo and that it was so old (2 years) that it was not likely to be found. Well, Google found it and it is still here.
I was indeed surprised to see the airplane thingie on google. I kinda expected my gallery images to be there (I do sign those). But now that I know google has forum images there, I'll start signing the wip's.
It was a head's up to others who might also be surprised.
As for why I am surprised? Well, I don't live on the internet. I do have a day job and a real life. And that does not involve hours daily on cell phones or internet.
Best wishes, hope others see the head's up.

Hi Kimberly,
When I left click on a nickname, sometimes it takes me to their home page and then I can see their gallery. For me, and some others, it says "Oh Snap, This user has no activity"
So you and I can get to my home page here in rendo, but not from chat. Used to be that we could get there before the re-write.
Ok, thanks for the bad news about the modeling tut. I know now to not post tutorials here. Been a member since the PFO days so losing a 3 page tut that is only 3 years old is kinda odd.
Best wishes to all.

Also, the chat is broken. when i click on my nick, and go to gallery, it is blank. DId Rendo erase my gallery for some particular reason? I'm all ears.

Great comments. What happens in chat stays in chat! I would like that as long as the bullying stops. Bissie is missing Janet? OMG!
I hope the log on for Oshio gets fixed. He's a hoot.
Most of us would like to work things out in chat but there are special rules from TinaK that bind the hands of some and lose the hands of others. If those rules are abolished, and the new ToS applies evenly to everyone, then there can be some healing and resolution for the problems of the past. It shouldn't be merchant vs hobbyist or folks who hate what others do for a living.
Just saying.
And tomatoes are a fruit!

I too did not know her. Seems in the last few years we have lost friends who enjoyed computer graphics. There was a time when CG was for the young and new. Now I am impressed with folks who in retirement years do CG! Thank you everyone for the art, and thanks to Peedy for joining this great community. My best wishes to family and friends.

I have some copies of sitemail that were deleted (but not the ones I am looking for). Please restore, please do not permaban me for asking.
Thread: Why are you still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I thought there was a time when the eula said DAZ could terminate the license at any time for any reason. I might be wrong. Thought there was a thread on that a while back.
