Whenever you have a question, drop me a line. If you have any kind of IM...
I´m more than willing to help.
I´ve been going through that self learning trial and error phase for the last 1 1/2 years and now I´m finally at a point where I can say "I know how to use that darn thing"
Thread: HELP!! Face issues | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I´ve had the same problem... are you using Poser?
Try toning down the specularity just a little bit and raise the bump.
The face texture usually is smaller than the body texture and the "bumps" come out smaller as well.
Which fits the smaller pores, but in the end they barely have any effect at all.

Ok, after reading this thread, I decided to give it another try and have fun with Daz´ surface tab.
Wonderful, is all I can say.
You can do so much bump and displacement, opacity and diffue maps. It´s fabulous.
I´m working on a pic right now and will post the result when I´m done.
So, honestly, you most likely wnt get the results you see in the promos with Daz, but you will get a whole variety of interesting possibilities.... if you know how to deal with the surface tab and got a hell lot of time
Thread: Replacing body parts I am not sure how to do this. | Forum: DAZ|Studio
To make it easy.
Make the body part you want to replace invis, either in the scene tab, or of it´s not possible there, by changing the opacity in the advanced surface tab to 0.
THen put the other figure over the first, make anything, you don´t want invis, et voila.
Adjust.
There you go. ;)
On a side note, changing the opacity might bringt different results, than making it invis in the scene tab.
Just try it out.

Means, it doesn´t work g
sadly enough, because I really like her (?) works, but half of the stuff you cannot even use and the rest (except the texture) looks different, or works only half of the time.
Thread: Tears without postwork-testing an idea. | Forum: DAZ|Studio
hrm, if you want them to gleam, without glowing, tiwould be a Glossiness/specularity thing. I´d say set Glossiness to 95 and then tweak specularity until it works.
And check the ambient color, if it´s too bright it will gleam as well.
Or perhaps try for a reflection?
Good luck and keep us informed.

Thread: Reflectivity in D|S | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Reflections in Daz are pretty easy, actually.
simply go to the surface tab, select the reflecting surface and set reflection to about 50 ( or whatever you like), select reflection color, refraction, if you like.
Render
That´s it.
I had the problem, that the refelction would not show up, the problem disolved itself, after I did pure software rendering
