Yup - just created a ball and those blocks, set them to collide with the cannon, the ground, and 'cloth collide'. Then I set everything to be 'solid' - i.e., fold/shear/stretch resistance of 1000. Put a wind-force behind the cannonball... and, voila, the cloth room simulation did the rest.

Making props IN Poser...
Not toohard. Create your basic shapes using the Poser:Priminitives. Use as many/few as you need. Export just these objects as a Wavefront '.obj' file. Import (without any transformations), and smart-prop if required....
(TEXTURING, however, is a different matter - I'd recomend UVMapper Pro...)

He doesn't try to reload until you fire - as SOON as you fire your last round, fire again, even at 'nothing'... at least he'll reload...
