A tutorial. I am utterly flabbergasted just like everyone else.
I've seen terrible web designs, let's face it we all have, but this has to be a first. A website so non-intuitive and confusing that the designers are making a tutorial to navigate it??
Okay, so Renderosity needs to redesign the website so it is mobile compliant to make Google happy, okay fine. I still do not ever recall seeing other websites re-design themselves in ways that a tutorial was required.
Since Google is evidently the source of this change, why not follow their lead? A minimalist approach that emphasizes functionality rather than jamming everything together like Tumblr just vomited everywhere.

@4222183 I agree.
I don't know about a pre-2013 reset but this recent 'upgrade' and the phone/tablet-centric design philosophy behind it should be scrapped.
At least until smartphones and tablets have the processing power to render images as fast as PCs.
Thread: I'm liking the new layout! | Forum: Community Center
I've looked through this thread and I don't see anything from the OP explaining exactly what they like so much about new layout. Like others, I can't think of too many positive things about it and I can give specifics about what : Needlessly disorganized and cluttered, pointless offset to images, inconsistencies between sections (compare the What's New of the Marketplace and the Freestuff) and a general feeling that the changes are not meant to make things more streamline or easier but just meant to make the site look cool for phone users in complete disregard for PC users.
Last time I checked, I don't think my iPhone can render images.
Thread: What was the point of the site redesign? | Forum: Community Center
I wanted to give the new site design a chance but it is just getting more annoying the longer I use it.
Others have already outlined the issues. The pages are far too cluttered and disorganized. I won't rehash everything that's been said but here's one of my most annoying peeves - The 'What's New' on the Marketplace is different from the 'What's New' on the Freestuff section.
The Marketplace What's New section somewhat makes sense, even if the images are annoyingly oversized. The utterly pointless offset of the items is irritating but manageable (what is the point to not lining-up the items so they're straight across?) At least at the bottom there is a page listing.
The Freestuff What's New is terrible. The offset of the images is ridiculous and there is no page listing, you are forced to keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling which is ludicrous. I do not check the Freestuff section that often, so a page listing is critical for ease of navigation.
Be consistent between sections of the site. Each page/section should function the exactly same across the entire site rather than feeling like different people designed each one without talking to each other.
So far, I am not impressed by the changes. I have found nothing that has made the site feel easier or more straightforward to use and the changes only feel like they are forcing users to adapting to them rather than trying to make things clear or convenient.
Thread: Victoria 7 | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I'm a DAZ user but after G2 I've grown tired of trying to keep up. Esp. since I find myself still turning to V4 sometimes to do what I want.
I think I'm just going to settle for being a generation behind and buy GX-1 stuff when all the prices drop after the next newest figure releases. I don't think I'll have to wait that long to see it happen to G3.
Thread: Genesis 3 released | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Interesting. Is it compatible with all the G2 stuff or are we expected to buy all new repeats of purchases?
This is my big concern as well. I have little interest in re-purchasing all the G2 supporting stuff like morphs, GenX etcetc for G3.
Thanks for the info Zev0. It sounds like we're still waiting to hear exactly how compatible G3 is going to be. I will say it is disturbing that there is no clear mention of easy compatibility in the official announcements/advertisements.

Thank you very much Skip1871! I really appreciate that you did the experimentation and posted your results.
@RHaseltine - I'm new to DAZ, might you provide some specifics on settings in the Shader Mixer?
Thread: Human outline with DAZ Studio | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Thanks, that looks darn close.
Here is what the very helpful Miss Nancy told me when I asked them about DAZ
*I don't use D|S, but if it has edge-blend node or falloff shader, then the answer is yes. if not, then illuminate the figure with a single infinite light in front view. the light should be located at whatever rotation causes it to be zeroed directly in front of the figure. the resulting render of an all-white figure will look the same as a falloff shader render.
Does DAZ have an edge-blend node or falloff shader?
These forums rock! You get responses to questions so quick!

Quote - this be what I'm talkin' 'bout (bill's toon shader) - for dynamic inking. takes awhile to learn all this poser stuff.
Thanks Miss Nancy! I'm learning with helpful sources like you :)
BTW - If I want to thicken the lines on the render, I guess I just increase the Hi Pass value? Or would it be better to darken the lines post-render?

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
Now I just to figure out how to clean it up a little, I guess that's messing with Hi Pass filter and mess around with the scaling but this is pretty much what I wanted to do.
Also need to figure out if there's a way to keep the inside detail, though I don't need that as much.
Quote - - directional falloff shader in poser: use toon shader for large inked areas, then falloff shader for lines IMVHO.
Could I ask for a bit of translation? Still pretty new to all this :)

Thank you Miss Nancy! This is exactly what I was interested in finding!
You rock! And thanks for the link!

Awesome. Thanks for all the information EnglishBob and Markschum! This forum is really great. I'll see if my plans to do some art with this method actually work out and make sure to post them here :) Probably superheroines or science-fiction/fantasy-genre babes lol

@EnglishBob -Thank you! It's very helpful seeing what the exact settings are. I'll give it a try this evening :)
I would think the next step would be use a player like VLC to do a screencap of the video? And then that screencap can be loaded in Photoshop.
@markschum - Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into that as well.
