Don't use the File>Export Menu.
Get out of the Preview Tab and go to the Render Tab - then click the drop down arrow on the upper right corner of the document window and choose Export Image.

I don't know what is causing that, but I would suggest that you do not use the translation tools.
Select the bodypart you want to pose and then use the parameter dials to move it instead.

Save the pose, but deselect the fingers in the hierarchy subset first. Then apply the pose to fresh copy of the figure and work from there.
Jim Burton may have a finger fix pose in the freestuff. It's been awhile on that issue.

To crouch (without IK), bend the thighs upward, shins down, then lower the figure by selecting the hip and translating it downward along the Y axis until the feet contact the floor.
