Seems that poser has a new feature which does something close from what i would need.
I tried to follow that tutorial to get m4 face follow my obj file, but that does not work (makes him very bulky and in no way looking like my custom character).
But now, i know there is a technology somewhere, which, maybe someday, i will master and will let me transfer a custom head to a poser character without hours of zbrushing ! haha

As you said, zbrush is far too complicated to be useful as i have short deadlines...
I think i now have a pretty good workflow, atleast for my level of exigence :
Started from 123D tool from autodesk, get me a ruff scanned head, but with terrible texture UV
work on the mesh in Sculptris, (which is like zbrush for noobs)
Texturing and UV in 3D coat (also very user-friendly)
Now, i need better pictures for the texturing. I will show you the result when it's done :)
Finally, i had to do more work than i expected. I wish there was a tool to get M4 head geometry follow my scanned head geometry, to be able to have a custom M4 with expressions, etc. Next step is learning zbrush to do that. But for now i only need a static head so it's ok for me !

strange, i sent one to you maybe half an hour after your PM. I have worked on that since and found that my bvh files works great with another character, the classic james skeleton from poser ; I guess now that the character is making trouble and not the import settings.
M3 skeleton (which is more or less the same as M4 skeleton) moves in the space ! Good enough for me :)

Hi,
i tried to open a bvh file but didn't really understood what to do then. I can provide you a bvh file if it can help. My bvh files works well with genesis in daz, so i don't understand what's wrong with my character in poser... It could be a paid job to get me out of that hell because i'm beginning to be desperate by this problem...
So :
I capture a dancer with a kinect sensor in ipisoft mocap software and generate a bvh file.
I then need to use that bvh with m4 skeleton in poser.
Between that, i've tried everything but can't get better result than a character who's not moving in the space. To be clear, i lose the hip translations somewhere at the import in poser. No one has ever tried to do the same thing ?

I'm still looking for a solution anyway, and was thinking if create a conforming shirt is really a complicated job, and if someone would be kind enough to help me to do that or take a few bucks to create it (with the collar of cocco's free shirt !).
Also, maybe i'm doing it wrong, i'm not a cloth room expert, is that possible to put a dynamic shirt under a dynamic vest without getting strange things around the collar ?
maybe i would put pictures of what i'm doing if that can help you to understand my problem.

hello,
the first link is the shirt i'm talking about which has no arms, and is specifically designed to work with the dynamic jacket ; In fact, if i had any modeling skills i would create the complete model of this shirt and that would be perfect, but i don't really have time to learn modeling...
I need in fact two shirts, with the exact same collar :
-one which works under the dynamic shirt (the first link you sent me is perfect)
-the same one, dynamic or not, when my character is not wearing his jacket.
Or, a dynamic shirt which would be working in any case. Yesterday i bought optitex's shirt and jacket for m4, but i have difficulties to use it under my dynamic jacket...

Yeah, i got it !
I had to uncheck the "use displacement map" in the render settings to make it magically disappear. Anyway, much thanks for your support, if one of you has time to explain to me the why and how, i'm still curious.

edit: i changed the displacement setting in the material room for head and mouth skin to 0, so i can still use displacement maps in the same scene. What a shame, I lost hours on this thing, haha!

Hi,
after a few more hours passed on this little problem, no solution found for now.
It seems that there is a "bug" which appeared in the geometry of the face, and i can't fix it with all the tools i have tried. I don't think it's coming from the tongue but really from the corner of the mouth (the upper and lower jaw were hidden on the pictures i putted here).
Maybe i'll need some external expertise to fix that thing, someone here would be kind enough to have a look of it in poser ? Or it could be a one hour payed job.
The fact is i would be able to clean that if it was showing in preview, but there is really no way make the "bug" appear in preview mode.
Another path : maybe it's due to a poser smoothing geometries algo ?

Hi,
i've tried to work with morphs and expression morphs, magnets... lip top thickness seems to be the right morph to fix that but i'ts not enough and it also change the mouth too much. (by the way, is there a way to choose the area of influence of a morph, like the "magnet zone" for magnets ? never found out how to do that). Here is a pic with the mouth open so you can see how strange is that.
The texture changes in the inner mouth could be working, but it's an essential character in a animation project so it should be as clean as possible, if there is a way to fix the geometry it would be better.
