Thanks for the compliment on my efforts. Your strip is great and I love those clip art illustrations you have. Wish I could draw like that. As a big fan of the old movie musicals I spend a lot of time watching Fred and Ginger as well as Gene Kelly, Vera Ellen, Cyd Charisse, Donald O'Connor, Ann Miller and others too numerous to mention. I've always been fascinated by how graceful and liquid the motion of dancing appears when I know it can be really hard and gruelling work to make it appear that easy. Glad you liked my images. Kate

We all of us have one person in our lives who touches our essence somehow. This is a lovely tribute to that person. Kate

Well, the first pose was a modification of the "Tango" from the dancer poses. I changed the joined hand positions and the angle of the heads so that they were looking AT each other instead of PAST each other. The second one was part imagination (where would she go if she bent her arm into a turn) and then moving through the step myself a few times to get a "feel" for the positioning. The last one was the real pain. Took forever to get the collar and shoulder joints to quit sticking out at all weird angles. Yeesh! I tell ya, whoever did all those lover poses I downloaded last week has my admiration and major respect. Arms are a major pain to pose. I still didn't get the hand positions right, that's why there's so much shadow there, to hide it. Kate (who thinks she needs to watch "Dirty Dancing" again a few more times grin)

What's wrong with letting Vue 3 owners know that there is a place where they can post their work and discuss their app? I've been a long time forum member and I own Vue 3 because bryce was simply out of my budget (hubby said "no @#$%# way are you spending that much"). It would be NICE to have others here who know how to use the program so I could ask them about techniques and technical problems, just the way I can with Poser and y'all can with Bryce. I admit, Bongo gets a bit...um...how to say it politely...aha!... BOISTEROUS in his enthusiasm over the program, but other than that he seems a decent sort and he has been limiting himself primarily to the 3D APPS forum the past few days. Kate (who will join the ranks of the VUE users as soon as I learn how to use it)

Allie, are you NUTS?!? grin Just these three poses were a nightmare as far as getting the hands positioned properly and keeping her arm from getting buried in her bosom on that last one was a major pain. I'd hate to think of how long it would take to animate something like that. Hmmm...... Oh well, at least with the long skirt, you can't tell her feet are in the wrong place giggle Kate

I've been here since February or March, somewhere around there, and I've watched all the goings on. I've kept my eye on both sites, and my mouth shut on the politics and behind the scenes stuff. I've stayed out of the "Us v. Them" business as much as I possibly could, and here is my bottom line regarding the two sites. If both sites were to suddenly start charging for membership, where would I be? I would be here. This is where I would put MY money, if it came down to it. Now, realize, please, that this doesn't mean I'm trashing the other site or anyone associated with it. Far from it. I'm merely saying that I would consider Renderosity to be a better investment for ME, nothing more. Why? you may ask. Well, ok, I'll tell you why. The other site is nice and all, and the people there have never treated me with anything but respect and civility, but there are things in my life that affect what I pass off as art and which would not meet with approval there. Here I am free to post those pieces I put together that have meaning for me and I can be confident that the majority of comments I would receive on those pieces would deal with the technical aspects of the work...how to improve the lighting, the posing, the backgrounds, etc, etc, rather than on the subject matter or content or my personal beliefs or life situation. I am not advocating that this become a pay site, I'm just saying that if BOTH were to do so, I would have to choose this place as my home. Nothing more, nothing less. Kate (still peeling the onion that is my soul)

Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah, Froelich Weinachtsfest (I hope I spelled that right), Feliz Navidad, Buon Natale (again, forgive any misspelling) and whatever the phrase in whatever language you speak, a heartfelt holiday greetings from my house to yours. May you all Live long and prosper. Kate
Thread: MetaStream (Present and Future) | Forum: Animation
Well, personally speaking, I don't like Metastream. In fact, I dislike it so much that I actually removed it from my system. Even with a cable modem hookup it slows things down so much that I just don't want to be bothered with waiting for everything to load up...soooo...for all of those sites that have everything in metastream windows, you're not reaching me. I can't see you. And with the news that came down today, I doubt I will ever use it now, not even if they improve the download time for the images. Kate (who doesn't buy electronic equipment or furniture online anyway and who couldn't care less about what a book she wants to read looks like in 3D)
