Thread: Poser user really frustrated with store contents... | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I used to be a Poser user exclusively, bought all of the poser pro versions/upgrades. The latest version started constantly crashing on my old PC so I took a break for a year and when I got my new PC I reinstalled it and... it still kept crashing I got lucky if I finished one render, if it did not crash before that it would certainly do upon closing, that bothered me and I stopped using it.
I thought I was done with Poser more or less and by extension 3D. I too noticed the "content drought" before i resolved myself to giving up the hobby because the program got so frustrating and after having sunk SO SO much money into poser since Poser4 and content mostly for V4 that was discouraging. Seeing my favorite vendors move to DAZ sucked but honestly I totally understand, Bills are to be paid. Finally I began missing my 3D hobby so much I bit the bullet and tried DAZ and well loved it I can use most of my old content, make new materials for them and give them new life and autofit.. well let's just say it is leagues above the fitting room which I also could never get to work that well. And not for lack of trying I spent hours with tutorials and attempting to make it work.
Now I am so deep into Daz I would not return to poser and no amount of new content or new figures could change that. Most of the 3rd party figures and no offense meant to the creators I did not find worth investing to. The last time I did that I was sorely disappointed. I don't fault vendors for moving onto DAZ to pay their bills. Make the poser version and sell near to none of it or make a second DAZ product in the time that pays the electric bill that month? I'd be making that second DAZ product too.
I do not understand brand/product loyalty if the brand or product does nothing to keep your loyalty. Smith Micro lost my business because I am no longer confident in the product. I expect something that does not crash nonstop for the money I paid. Also, I'd love to use figures that work better than V4 are not as ugly as poser native figures or poorly supported like 3rd party figures. I vote with my wallet every time. Instead of faulting vendors for the problem people need to set their eyes on the real culprit. SM who have done nothing to be able to keep up with the times.

Thread: OT: Anyone round here using Adobe's CC service? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have a subscription, it is the program used by my place of employment and the one I am most comfortable with. Honestly I do not get all this cloud paranoia, I have never and will never send anything to the cloud. (My job forbids that anyways.) So nothing I have done on my PC has magically ended up in the cloud. Just because you have a sub with the program does not mean you all of a sudden are forced to use that service.
Personally I have no complaints with Adobe CC and all the supposedly superior products have never done it quite as well as my Adobe products. And the compatibility between the programs still beats everything else.

Thread: Is the Poser user base shrinking? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Long time ago I was a memver at Poserworld it was nice while it lasted but in the end the selection was just not what I was looking for (though I do not buy all that uch these days anyways)
What really out me off Poserworld was all the weird emails they were sending a while back from other business ventures to wanting/needing money and crying about possible shut down.. worst thing I unsubscribed about 4 times and still got those mails every once in a while. In the end businesses such as that will never see mooney from me.
As for all of the Poser userbase shrinking.. I am not seeing that at this time. It is however summer and most things slow down in summer to a degree I myself have been spending lots of time outside and on vacation and nowhere near the marketplace or Poser.
Thread: Any gamers here? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I play a lot of games. Mostly MMO's and adventure games.
At the moment Neverwinter. :)
I'm sure the games give me ideas for images, but that's rather random than desired.
Â
My favorite MMO was Dark Age of Camelot for years. I wish someone would create a second part of the game with new graphics.
Â
I saw something on kickstarter that looked like the parts of the DaoC team were recreating the game in a new setting with modern graphics can not remember what it was called though will check into it later.

Currently I returned to Star Trek Online and play Neverwinter on the side.
Quite a few renders are inspired by what I play but the majority are other projects.
Thread: can someone help? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am not exactly sure what you are asking. For us to find you the perfect clothing eventhough we really have no clue what you are looking for?
Most custom morphed V4 characters can use V4's clothing however some of those morphs work better then others and you may need to fix issues with posers morph brush or invest into morphing clothing in order to inject the exact bodyshape into a piece of clothing that you have purchased, all in all most things need some manual adjusting and do not work 100% perfect out of the box.
I too have this character and no problems with her save for the occasional tweaks I make to clothing.

I actually play the game those models are used in, the models in game even on the highest settings do not look even half as nice on PC, they had to massively scale them down I wish my characters face looked as pretty and smooth as that xD Though yeah not feasible to have that high poly stuff in a MMO.
Thread: Victoria 5 In Poser 2012 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can get your money back from Daz for 30 days if V5 does not work to your satisfaction.
Thread: Female Genitalia from bundle nor working | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It works... badly. For me it will take around 4 minutes to load, if I click anything in that time poser will crash if I leave it be it will eventually load and then work fine.. a bit of a pain but oh well not like I need those parts more then 3 times a year :) Only the V4 one though the M5 stuff works fine.
Thread: DSON content for Rendo products? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That is the only thing I use Daz Studio for, convert the things that came without DSON files since i somewhat reluctantly picked up Genesis a while back, it is really quite easy to do there is even a pretty good tutorial on how to make your own poser companion files over at DAZ somewhere, can not look for it right now I am browsing from my phone.
Thread: Morphing clothes - to base morph? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To convert clothing not meant for a base figure you would have to use something like crossdresser or wardrobe wizard first.
If the outfit is for Hiro 4 however, then you could add M4 morphs with morphing clothes into it and it should work fine.
If it were for Hiro 3 you'd have to convert it to M4 first using one of the conversion programs and then add the M4 morphs with morphing clothes.
Thread: OT - What software do you use to create your website? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use dreamweaver (CS6). There is really nothing I dislike about it.
Tough recently I have been using wordpress as my framework a lot and then just made plug ins and reskins for that. (mostly in dreamweaver)
Now the biggest plus about dreamweaver if you are doing cosmetic work on your site is likely that you can get a good idea of what you are doing in realtime when you use the split display function, one one side you can see the code on the other you see how it will look.
