I agree. I read them but will want to refer to them again. If they haven't already been added to the FAQ (I didn't check) that would be a great new home! ;)

Wow! Thanks to Alpha101 and Kurka for the great answers! :) I'll try and sell my old Canon stuff and get some new Nikon goodies for sure! :) As for the flash -- I was relying on the "professionalism" of the salesmen at Ritz camera. They recommended a Quantaray Flash QTB-7500A that requires a modual -- both for $99.00 US. I've been away from cameras and equipment for so long that I wasn't sure if this was a new standard or what ... Thanks for the tips on the Vivitar. I'll look for that one. Lisa

I love the contrast between the curves and shapes of nature and the harsh lines of man. Great shot! :)

They're mildly fragrant. The bees like them. :) I got a few photos on Sunday trying to capture the bees going in and out of the flowers. The darn things move so quickly that I wasn't able to get a clear shot. This cherry tree has a story. It's actually a miniature weeping cherry tree. On the day my son died, my family and I were outside the hospital for a cig break and were discussing Jeff's brain death and how we had to let him go. I kept hearing in my head "He is such a strong spirit". The blossoms off the miniature cherry trees in the hospital courtyard were blowing like snowflakes all around us in the breeze. It was very surreal and like it was happening in slow motion. A group of internet friends wanted to give us a tree to plant in Jeff's memory. Something like an oak tree, however my yard is too tiny for such a majestic tree. At the advice of another friend who shared my story with them about the hosptial cherry trees, they sent us a white flowering minature weeping cherry tree. :)This is the first that I've seen it bloom. Hopefully your all day sickness will only last for the first few months and you'll be able to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. BTW, congratulations! :) Good luck with your computer and getting things back to normal. Lisa

Well, I was excited to actually make time to take pictures .. I guess it's in the composition. With the digital camera I often find that I get a whole lot more than I anticipated. Not that that can't be corrected with cropping but the subject could have been a better resolution. I also "saw" my focus on the extreme foreground with some blurring of the background -- enough to make the foreground stand out more. That didn't happen. I know that when I came in and uploaded the photos I was disappointed. Like I said, I didn't get what I "saw". But maybe I expect too much of myself sometimes and getting what I see will come with practice and time. Thanks! :)

Thanks! It's cold (in the 40's F) and rainy with clouds and yuk. The adjustments brought out the yellow of the stamens (?) of the flowers. :)
