Not sure about Vue but your not going to be making models in bryce. I used bryce for years for landscapes. I've seen killer landscapes from both programs. As a max user I'm kind of bias towards the 3d studio. You can do everthing bryce or vue can plus so much more. It cost quite a bit more but it's worth it. It's not really that much harder to learn than bryce.
Thread: For those wishing their images to be looked for against image theft... | Forum: Community Center
I have my images stolen from time to time. Dale Williams was the last guy to rip off a couple my images. He did a lousy job of covering my sig too. These bozos always get found out. The images posted on the net are to low rez to do anything with any way. Keep you original 3d files and if they ever try to make ant money off your work sue the crap out of them. Other than that don't post on the internet if your worried about theft. Personaly I really don't worry about it much.

I used to do a bit of lapidary ans siversmithing when I was younger. If your into making jewlery you might consider a modeling program. Making your own models is so much more rewarding and a heck of a lot cheaper. Check out some of the free ones, buy a copy of poser4. Learn the ropes and then go for poser 5 or one of the better 3d app. I don't use poser much, more of a 3d max fan myself, But I have made some nice money just making art and you can't beat that

here is what I would do.. Install poser to your new partition then just drag the runtime over to it. I have poser installed on a ram disc. I don't use it much but when I need it I pop in the disc. That way I don't have it eating up drive space :)

I would get that error too. I turned my virtual ram down to under 512mb and it would run. There is a patch for version 4 but I'm not sure about 3
Thread: Two suggestions for improvement of galleries viewing | Forum: Community Center
I usually bypass images without a thumbnail or cropped thumbs. Too many times I waisted my time and bandwidth only to find it's nothing like the thumb suggested. As for another gallery...I have a hard time checking all the galleries rosity has now.

Thread: I need a translater from .3DM and .MAX to .OBJ or .3DS or .DXF | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nothing but max will open a max file (properly I should say). A max file is the scene( cameras, lights, plugin info sometimes, and the objects. A 3ds file can be more than one object as long as the face count is under 64k. I never messed with 3dm format so I can't help there.
