Under Options in the Temporary Internet Files settings there is settings to tell IE when to check for newer versions of the webpage. I have mine on Automatic and it didn't make me refresh the pages you mentioned above.

What codec are you using to make avi's? Is it the same as the avi's that your able to view? My first thought would be that you might have a bad codec. I would try getting the lastest Ms player and if that don't work try removing your codec's and installing new ones. At least the one you use as default.

I could use long 16 bit instrumental wav's. I'm always looking for good music and fx.

Thats about as small as your going to get with those 95 images at that size. Something you can try though is making the image even smaller and play it back at double or triple size. Flash plays back enlarged nicely if you define the scale of play back. If you let the web browser stretch it then it looks like crap.

Not a answer but I always get my flash answers at this place http://www.flashkit.com/index.shtml On the right hand side up top is links to some pretty good boards on flash. Just thought that might help.

Under the sequence in the time line, right click and select edit time.
