Thread: Apoophysis or Art? | Forum: Fractals
Attached Link: some of my postwork free apo renders
I am a V.J. by proffession (I mix visuals onto large screens in niteclubs) I always introduce apophysis animations into what im playing and they definately go down really well! so I am showing apophysis' capabilites to the masses! people come up to me in awe of what they are seeing! the folk who have no idea of how or what is used to make the animtions they are seeing really enjoy watching them ( thankyou scott and mike!!! ) I have created dvds, the content being visuals mixed to music as poeple at the niteclubs often want something to take home with them like a souvenier of the night. the dvds contain more than just apophysis flame animations, they are a mixed bag of 3d animations, real life footage etc and when I see the people at other nights after they have taken home a dvd they are always blown away by the apophysis loops!!! so wether it is art or not is a different matter but they are always a roaring success at the venues I work in!! in order to not be too repetetive and show the same work too often at the venues I work at, I always need to raise the bar and come up with new loops!one woman at an event came up to me and said "those twiddly psychedelic spiraly fluffy laser type things are awesome, how the hell did you create them"!!?? so I gave her the apophysis url, and she is now an avid flame creator herself!
www.enchgallery.com is a sublime site indeed, the best ive seen in along while!
daegols comment had me laughing out loud!! nice one mate!!!
namaste to you all

Thread: Cosmic flame colorisation | Forum: Fractals
wow! an amazing story - this has been a hard time but hopefully things are back on track now. and thanks for showing me what you have done with these flames! you have really pushed them far beyond the initial look of the flame.
excellent cyble - namaste.
oh,and for some interesting variations of these paramaters - why not try flipping the 1st transform ( try vertical then horizontal - then go on to the other transforms ) you will unveil a whole host more flames of a similar styles using this technique.
:)

I always look through the gallery indiscriminatly and open an image If I like the thumb! I dont just stick to my fav artist list, the artist comes secondary to the image From this standpoint! obviously If one of your fav artist has uploaded something you will go and look! and comment accordingly!
In my humble opinion , an eyecatching image no matter who its by is definately worth a click!
I did the same thing with my soulprojector alias , before admitting its MrPsiquedelico's other gallery , and did actually get a lot of comments ( maybe on the strength of soulprojectors followers, maybe because of the image) ,it was a one off upload! my soulprojector gallery is primarily for photos , but yeah, in that instance , it didnt make any difference??? still got the hits!!
an interesting thread though all the same.

so I get the impression from the thread here that the consensus IS that it IS ok to render an unchanged flame paramter and call it your own!As an example and with Alisons (CYBLE13) permission here is a few links to some of what I would say explain my point!
http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=934073&Start=19&Artist=Cyble13&ByArtist=Yes
http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=772402&Start=19&Artist=Cyble13&ByArtist=Yes

the above flames surpass the original paramaters as opposed to just rendering the actual free paramaters!
Is it just me or can any one else appreciate or see the difference between the two.
And also!! whats all this 'they are either free or they are not free'?
If people are making money using the paramaters I made available ....GOOD FOR YOU!!!! well done!! ;)
they are free ! they were free and always will be free!
free the flames!!!!!!!
oh and if we are now getting all kindergarden pernickety Thanks to Scott Draves, Apophysis + all who have helped developed it and write its scripts!!!,Fractint, Tierazon, in fact all the fractal and non fratcal software I have ever used!! ,renderosity, xenodream, photoshop, oh, so that will include adobe and all the employees there! :) microsoft, u , them ,they ,us, etc
! thankyou to every body who has commented on my work and also those of you who have removed comments recently too I appreciate all comments good or bad and removal of comments is the biggest comment I can get! :) LOL! oh, and everything that has helped and inspired my creative pursuits!! and last but not least.... god!
thankyou !
coooooooool!
keep it coming your opinions are important.

Patti has clearly got the wrong end of the stick here! my posting wasnt a personal attack at all, or intended public humiliation, far from it.
"Patti, you are not being attacked here"!
the dedication image from coolbreezylady WAS lovely but it still didnt acknowledge the flames origins!
I did include other examples from other artists in my initial query.
If coolbreezylady wants to bow out thats her standing but im sincerely not asking for that of her or anyone, judging by the i.m. ive been getting that would mean over half the fractal community should bow out!!!
my question to the community was and still is a genuine query not an attack.
I re-iterate :- 'All im asking is, is it wrong for other fractalist to get credit for flame renders they have made from MrP's flames without acknowledging where originaly they came from?'
So, to the community, what is your opinion?
Stefano

Thread: problems with my frractal free stuff submissions | Forum: Fractals
well this has stumped me completely ? im glad its not just carolyn and ron, I have checked the server and have accessed renderosity fractal free stuff from over a dozen different locations (p.c.s) and on one occassion I got the dreaded x's in the corner where the image should be but then after refreshing they all appeared , so in a nut shell , does anybody else have any suggestions? A confused and concerned MrP :^S
Thread: larger thumbnails/images (upload) ? | Forum: Fractals
I use photoshop - and save for web - You have a lot of control over the final image - I usually make my images with around 500-1000 pixels / 1000 wide 3000 high, then scale down to 199 pixels for the renderosity submission meaning it still looks alright at 512k
