A waste of money IMO, one would have thought daz would have learned their lesson on unisex characters with Genesis. It was so bad they had to rush G2 into the market!
Thread: 50% Off Wish List Sale | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
The way the ad is written implies that whatever the price as it existed in the WL prior to the "sale" would be reduced by 50%. I think I would have written it more clearly to prevent misunderstanding. The ad does not preclude "sale items" so to me it is reasonable to expect 50% of the sale price, not a complicated calculation of "is it already marked down 30% so this sale only takes another 20% off the price".
Just my $0.02 worth. Thanks for replying so quickly Jenn. :) Mike

True, but like any sample from any population, you can make reasonable judgements and assumptions to adjust your marketing strategy. Telling a customer who is vocalizing displeasure about something to pound sand cause "who needs ya", is neither reasonable or sound marketing strategy.
You may note that I wasn't trying to direct the efforts of any vendor. Merely stating my intentions to vote with my dollars. Daz is flailing around trying to keep their doors open and as a result releasing sub-standard product. I choose not to participate. I have continued to support the vendors that offer what I choose to purchase and will continue to do so.
I do appreciate the discussion and opinions of all that have looked in and those that commented. Factual customer marketing feedback is the most valuable thing a vendor can get and sometimes the most difficult to acquire.

Arrow1: The default directory for CF files created out of DS is in your Documents folder/DAZ3D and then a normal Runtime file structure.
Midnight_Stories: Thanks!

Thread: Parenting Poser Cameras | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Outstanding. I want to parent a camera to a "ring light" (read mesh light) for use in Reality/Lux. The camera needs to be at 0,0,0 so that the prop is in the correct position, I've never tried to "zero" a light and I'm not sure how to get it into the required position. There doesn't seem to be any Translation controls for the cameras.

Nope, haven't tried it yet, can it be done to a "stock" camera or do I need to create one?

Cool, I want to parent a camera to a light (prop light), anything special I need to know?

aRtBee-Yeah, I know about the Plugins placement but forgot and was laughing at myself. :)
Lux likes the shaders built in Blender but I don't use that. I'll have to look at some of those shaders and see how they are structured to be recognized in Lux. Reality has the ANSEL database of shaders that work too. I "think" those are created within Reality.
Thread: EZMat | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
By getting the plugins out of my Program Files and into a non-restricted folder, I have EZMat working.
It works fine in Firefly but Reality doesn't seem to recognize the shaders. Snow Machine works fine in FF but either doesn't show up in a Reality render or turns the entire surface white. LOL!!Â
Thread: Objects Files Questions | Forum: Poser Technical
I use SW and Poser. SW will assign the most rudimentry of materials to the model. Those materials are only adaquate for rendering with PhotoWorks from within SW. I'm assuming that you are converting your SW part to OBJ with Polytrans (my choice) or some other conversion routine. SW assigns poor if any UV maps to the parts and you will need to map and group all of your exported/converted SW parts. While SW is a great 2 1/2D modeler and is outstanding for mechanical modeling, there are a lot of compromises necessary for it's use with Poser. If interested, you can look at one of my sites where all the valves and "hardware" were modeled in SW, converted, mapped and grouped and added to Poser scenes for the web content. Feel free to ask any other SW related questions. Mike http://www.machiningsolutions.org
