You can rig imported models, but I don't think that Poser uses an armature system like Blender. But I could be wrong. I've never tried it. Maybe someone from the Poser forum could answer this. Later~

Sure. Add A material then add a texture. Hit F6 to get to the textures buttons and from the dropdown menu under texture type select wood. then fiddle with the parameters till you get the grain the way you like. There are eight texture channels that you can use to overlay grains, clouds to break up solid color, adjust alpha and such. Hit F5 to get back to the materials section and adjust it to your mapping preferences. The old Blender 2.0 guide had a short tutorial on how to do this. I'm not sure if it's in the 2.3 Guide but I'll check. Alot of the old tuts were carried over into the new guide. Have fun~

An empty is nothing more than a point in space and it doesn't render in the final image. Tap the spacebar and select empty from the add menu. It will be displayed as a small xyz axis. Deselect everything, rightclick the camera then shift+rightclick the empty. With both selected hit CTRL+T and select constrained. Now when you move the empty the camera will track it. Simple. :o) As far as the OSA I don't think it can be set to render any finer than 16. I'm not sure about that one.

I found a good way (for me) to aim the camera is to add an empty and set the camera to track it. then I move the empty and the camera around in the ortho windows and watch the camera view in another window until I get it like I want it. I'm glad to see that Blender is catchin' on around here. There's so much it can do. ;o)

Yep the user preferences section is in the manual (Chapter 3). You can also change ANY window to display the window type of your choosing by clicking on the dropdown menu at the far left side of the header for each window. Just FYI. ;0)

What version of Blender are you currently using? I'm using 2.34 and it works fine for me.

For a novel cover, I think the title text could be alittle sharper, but other than that, I think it looks great.

I'd like to add a another potential software to the modelling shootout. BlenderCreator by NAN. The current version is 2.22. I've been using Blender for six months, and I think it's a great tool. It has everything you need to get started without the investment that you would have to make for a more popular modeller. Blender Is a full featured, all in one program that supports nurbs, curves, metaballs, animation, you can build complex layered textures, and phototextures. It uses open GL and has it's own renderer and Game engine. It's an all in one package and it's FREE. The only downside that I've found with Blender is that it only exports dxf and vrml1. To get around this, I use Crossroads to convert my models to .obj format to use them with Poser and other apps. The interphase takes some getting used to, but once you dive in, I think you'll find that you can work alot faster than with other apps. Definately worth checking out. That's MY 2 cents..
