Um, I know you've probably done this, but does it only look blotchy before you render, or even after?

As an artist who has posted work here, and is currently in legal negotiations to publish some of the work I've shown here, that work had better not be used by Edgenet, because that was not stated in the agreement given to artists who posted their work here. If Edgenet attempts to use that work for its own benefits, then I, as a disabled and very poor and ill person in California, will certainly use all of the tools, including lawyers and the media, at my disposal, to dispute those attempts. I encourage any whose copyrights might be violated to do the same. I take these implications very seriously, because my art is my livelihood, and no one but myself will control who profits from it. Wow. One of my posts has been deleted. Real mature there. I agree with Luna. It's moot, though: won't change the minds of those who decide to use this issue to yell about their own issues. I've seen it on one of my own threads, it's happening again here. So I'll do it. :D And you know what? So what if some people stay. So what if they make a new community. People will go where the quality is. If the new incarnation of Renderosity will be better than this one, then shame on us. If it's not, they'll come to the new site. Or they'll do what most people do now- come here and go to PFO. I realise this may annoy some people, and I'd prefer that Edgenet had remained ethical, but some people will stick by them, and some people will leave. I'll leave, myself. At least, out of this, some peace has been made between two communities, since both have been shafted now. If it serves to defuse the animosity there, then maybe the community will benefit more from that than anything else. In closing, I think that a community reflects its leadership. If the people in charge here are hypocritical greedy suits, this place will reflect it, and the artists who come here will have recieved a lesson in where not to go.

Having seen Jack and Ed around much more than Tim, I'm inclined to believe them. Having recieved details and figures from them and none from Tim, I'll go with the more detailed explanation. But, ultimately, it comes down to what do I believe? I believe that edgenet hasn't tried to compensate Jack and Ed for their hard work. No severance pay, no compensation deal, nothing. And now they wish to profit from it. Fact: That's called stealing, letter of the law or no. Fact: Edgenet broke their contract with Ed and Jack. I do not condone thievery or breaking promises made in good faith. Therefore, I have requested to the administrators of Renderosity to remove my email from their list and database, and I will go to the new site when it is up. Does this mean I'll be inconvenienced by less art to see or less material to download? Yes. I'll put up with inconvenience to back up my beliefs. To me, that's what it's all about.

While my laptop can handle hi-res, and I am in need of hi-res men for a project in progress, my wallet cannot afford Michael and accessories. If the p4 man can get at least a little support, I would be more than happy to make textures for such things if they're needed. Pleeeeeeease. Because I hate having to spend a day in photoshop post-prodding to dedork him. :) Thankee.

My computer has 32 megs of ram, and is just a Pentium, and it runs fine. Slow, but it runs. Faster than Poser and Bryce at least. :)
