4000 pixels is about as large as I have had the need to go, but it works for me.

(keep in mind that I am still on 1.8, so if the tabs/dialogs are different I apologize...)
At the top of the screen/window there is a drop-down for "render," in that drop down is render settings. Open this dialog. Set an appropriate ratio/aspect (square, 3:4, etc..), once this is chosen enter the desired size in pixels.  I suggest choosing to render to file, in the options further down, instead of rendering to another window or what have you. I don't know if that last part might have anything to do with your situation, or not, but I know it was my problem getting full screen size, or larger, renders back when I started out in Studio.

Hope this helps, or that if it is a bit different in the current versions that someone will come in behind me and and correct it. :)

I went into it hoping to do some reference images for lighting effects for the figures I paint.

I threw myself into it whole hog when something came up that kept me from painting for almost two years (couldn't hold a brush stable to paint)... I'm the type that HAS to be creating something, and didn't have room at the moment for sewing.

Back into painting and sewing (and jewelry making and drawing and......) now, but wouldn't give this up for the world.

I can see where it would set off the ol' "spider senses" though, It would definitely have me wondering.

In my runtime I have a mountain lion/puma texture that was a freebie for Vittorio/V4, there is even a tail, tex for the creature legs, the works.  Used with the V4 creature morphs that might get you the look you are going for if combined with a fur bump/disp?

I seem to remember finding it in the DAZ forum Freepository, but please don't hold me to that. 

If you can't find it let me know and I'll see if I can't dig some info up by opening up Studio, loading up the stuff and digging backwards from the texture folder, as I have backed up (and therefore dropped off the 'puter) my downloads/freebies a few times since and have NO clue what DVD it might be on. sheepish grin

I have a free fix for her, too, in the free stuff here. Nothing fancy-shmancy, just a nice looking fix. Making that was one of the very first things I did with her. lol :)

I have it and I absolutely love it, so I'm a little biased on it. 
It could be the one here, but, like I said above, I think I know that morph, note the think quantifier there. lol

Well, there's the environment that comes in the start-up content, for one.
You could always make a "plane" primitive, lay it on it's side, and move it to the ground. (even hit it with deformers if you want to get adventurous).
There's always the background image option.

Barring that, peruse freebies until you find something that suits your needs. :)

I went back to check and my shipping was $4.99 when I got mine, we went with the slow option and still got it in like 8 days.

There is also Zazzle, but the way they were set up (the website it's self) just didn't click with me, so I can't tell you much about them.

I do alright over there at PF, especially for not having a whole lot of time to give to marketing with having a homeschooler munchkin, and all.  If you want to see mine it's just my username here tacked on the end of their base url.

I like Printfection.com a LOT more than I do CafePress. (only ever had one little item sell at CP)

There is no "premium vs. free" shop, they are all full feature and they are all free.
The print quality on the dark apparel is much better and much more consistant
more control over image placement on products
GREAT search engine response  that DOES bring in sales.

still a new company, so still working on a lot behind the scenes
image storage system is not foldered yet, so it's a huge list of all images right now
nowhere near as many different products... yet.

(and no, I get nothing for referrals, I just like the place and the way they run things. They are off to a start with an interaction and responsiveness to the shopkeepers that I really like.)

Another easy way to parent something in Studio is to click and drag, my usual method.
