Quote - > Quote - Hey everyone if I am accepted as a content creator I plan on offering pose sets for Dawn and would be interested in hearing as the end user what would you all like to see? I am sure that everyday standing and sitting poses will be offered but I will be making some of those as well. I plan on some Sci-Fi and action sets what else would you all like to see?
Dance poses. That make use of her real toes!
this is happening! :)

So new record here as I think this is the first time we have agreed on anything!
Dawn really is magic!

Quote - It may be a cliche that everything is easy once know it but that is with a difference.
In Poser (old-style), even if you have a master teacher like PhilC it still is difficult and takes a long time to learn.
In Daz the information can be a little hard to find, but once you find it it is easy to understand and you are in business from day one.
Of course, we don't know how it will be in Poser in the future.
But as long as there is two different forums for Daz and Poser we never will get anywhere. The people who know Daz will not help if they are afraid of being attacked for being in the wrong forum.
the same thing can be said about poser people and the same can be said about poser. once you find the information. you are in buisness from day one. I dropped studio for poser. Poser is easier and more powerful from my viewpoint just as it is obious that you are a studio user from your reference and attitude and believe it is better. I dont have a problem with that, I am looking at a company who has formed and walked away from another so they can heal that breach of trust, more power to them, bravo Hivewire!
Both programs have various abilitys, a smart uses will use both. Like AS they model in Maya, map in maya, use photoshop, then they rig in DazStudio for a poser item to work in poser. Weight mapping will change this if they stay with Poser/Studio. but here is a top creator who uses both.

Quote - A good tutorial writer always assumes that the user knows nothing at the start of a tutorial.
I've always done that for years now.
All the best.
Great Uncle LROG
This should be a standard
I want to add, if the tutorial is advanced, it should note that and lean on the begginer and intermediate tutorials, that should precede it.
like )because I always say things wrong way)
This is an advanced tutorial by fupart3d, it is recomended that the student complete the beginner and intermediate tutorials by fupart3d befor atemting this tutorial.

Quote - > Quote - I agree. Dawn's base shape out of the box is irrelevant.
Also agree. Unless the figure is hideously ugly or hideously gangly (unless that is the intent) then I am more concerned with how it moves, how it is represented technically (as to what bit will or will not make content creation challenging) and aesthetics, like is the topology created in such a way that you can reasonbly morph it or paint on it and so on.
Its default shape, with all the tools and creativity at our disposal is really ephemeral.
I have to disagree, we have had so called realistic figures that just do not look apealing right out of the box and they have really gone nowhere.
and if you want to create content, wether poses or cloth or props you endup spending a lot of time with the base figure, having it attractive helps with that time. it also helps sell your product.
the general public looks for that model figure, I see girls all of the time wil smaller figures than Dawn that are size 0, or a size 1 all the time on Deviant art and model mahem. do tthey exist? of cource they do, do the tankers exist? sure they do, there are many sizes and shapes. but which one sells?
that is where you find your customers.
the content creator who is making a product and wants to sell it makes it as sexy as possible. wether it is a gun or cloth....

she is the prettiest poser figure ever to come out of the box and look like that period.
that and the way she bends and moves will get her the suport she needs.

Quote - > Quote - I think the opposite: she'll end up more of a Poser figure. Just because Poser users are looking for something that works in Poser, while DS users already have something.
Don't be so sure about us DS users. Even us long timers. A good chunk of us aren't to happy with DAZ's roll out with GF2 and don't plan on courting her at all. I embrace the "Dawn of a new day" and would rather put my $$$ on her. :)
I agree that this will be more of a poser figure, DAZ users are confused right now, but then DAZ did that, there will be as yourself some who will use her in DAZ but Poser users have been waiting on this figure a long time, as the last one was V4 which is why V4 still has so much suport. Some will say there are other figures but of them only Michell has any suport.

breasts or polycount.
These are from references.
Roxie and 3 Lo poly figures at 8.300 each.
In for a penny, in for a pound. :-) Might as well make everybody mad, while I'm at it.
No offense, but those are not the norm. And I respectfully add, it's not the standard that most modern girls strive for, or that the public wants to see. A photo restoration book, by a pro in the industry, offers this: "One of my biggest challenges is to make all models appear to have a C cup size." :-) Those resemble A - small B.
Exactly!

Quote - Vilters's stance on the breast position baffles me.
I am a woman of ample proportions and I am 58 years old. I still look in the mirror sometimes, even without clothes. I also go to gym and see a lot of nude or scantily dressed ladies there, of all shapes and sizes. The vertical positioning of Dawn's breasts looks perfectly normal to me. OK, we live in different hemispheres, perhaps that is it.
I am unlikely to render Dawn in a swimsuit or underwear. If I do anything to her breasts it will be to cover them.
I am over the moon about the straightforward rigging and the fact that she has no JCMs that will make it difficult to clothe her.
I so Agree and it has been going on for a long time, he will even argure with a woman such as yourself who has breast! then he will telll you that your breast are in the wrong place! Baffling! ;)
