thanks for the input. I just think that would be really simple. I guess i should just try it. i have different versions of poser on all my machines and they are all networked and all of them have ssd's except for one.

sorry it's not broken. I am current in windows 10 on all machines. I just never tried to use the qm before and i made the mistake of reading the forums before i attempted to set it up which just caused a lot of confusion for me. anyway the main thing i found was the build number. it was stated many times that the build number has to be the same on all machines. i had different builds and that was my problem. as for permissions, Windows firewall asked me one time on initial launch of qm if i wanted to allow on public or private. i only selected private. im using 11.3.818 build. thanks for input!

hi
its working I'm just new to it and I have to say reading all this stuff just got me confused. I use Vue Hypervue and it is very similar. The most important part is that the qm all have to be the same build. i didn't even realize there where 3 builds of 11 since Bondware acquired it and my builds where all different. as for the permissions, because that got me really confused reading so many users saying it must be allowed in and out, all that happened when I initially opened it was Windows Firewall asked one time if I wanted to allow it on Public or Private. I only selected Private and it works fine. As for the serial number I was never asked to input, per Bondware there is only ONE serial number now for both Poser and Queue Manager, the same number which makes very logical since and is very convenient. Thanks Bondware. I hope poser 12 is the same.

So do I, I have windows 10 also. I just did a test with a short animation. my main computer with poser did all the rendering. i opened QM on two other machines and they seem to recognize they are connected. they all show command port 448 and discovery port 11523 and they both say 1 procs available but they aren't rendering anything so only the main computer did any rendering. So i set my firewall for my private network. I found some post that perhaps suggest you have to allow on private and public network for it to work which is confusing. please some clarification!?!

this is the most current post i see on qm?!? I have all windows 10 machines and i'd like to do network rendering over them. If I'm not confused I think thats what QM is for. I currently have version 11.3.818 on both poser and qm. i rendered a frame on qm and it worked fine. but i haven't installed qm on every system yet. Are the bugs out of it. Was considering upgrading to 12 but i sent an inquiry about it several days ago and no reply. Does QM work seamlessly in p12?
thanks

i have to agree it is a bad time of year to come out with a new version. the cycles renderer being added to poser is also a bit confusing to me as i use blender quite often so it feels like they stuck that in with firefly so like all the softwares they can say they have pbr engine now. the guy at the preview web said firefly is a way more 'creative renderer' in the right hands...so really that leaves custom parameter dails, that morph injection saving which was a little fuzzy about how it is saved just that you could sell them, didn't say what format it saves in, the new models and the male isn't even ready yet, game dev features included which means support for kinect, customizable short cut key script added, i'd like to upgrade because i have been a loyal poser user but i' m not impressed enough to put out 179.00 4 an upgrade now. like others for what it is i feel especially long time customers should get like a 99.00usd upgrade period. it's just too much...and i hate to say this even though i don't use daz but people are saying it surpasses poser now and is still free. i'm gonna wait and see what happens with it as well...good luck smith micro...hope you have lots of early adopters.
