Quote - pharie, I looked at yer renders and I can see why they take so long in poser/firefly.
the same renders might take about 2 hours in carrara 6 pro,
How much extra tweaking and stuff would I have to learn how to do in Carrara once I import my figure from Poser?

Reducing time is my goal because I do not use ONLY poser to produce my image... poser is just the base for all of the post-work I'm going to do in Photoshop. I cannot do this final photoshop work until my poser image has completed rendering, so, yes, time is an issue for me. Thanks so much for your reply though :D
markschum:
According to my research, Poser 7 DOES have render farm capability. Might be off, but that's what I've found.
Everyone else:
Thanks sooooo much for all of your help. I will look into all of your ideas.

MarianneR: Thanks, I'm transfering all my content from my server... no issues with transfer... like you said, the only issue I've encountered is the rsr files instead of png.... do you know of an easy way to create png's for those products? Is there by chance an rsr-png conversion program, or do I have to just deal with no preview thumbs? Thanks again to everyone for your responses!

Since you guys brought up 3D World Mag, incidentally, they are going to publish the same image accepted by 3dartists.com in an upcoming issue. Since that image was accepted and posted there, I have gotten more requests for publication of that particular image than ever before. I'm grateful for the exposure, but I do have more than just that one piece, ya know? I totally understand how some people can get turned off to Poser. So much of what comes out of it is cloned looking. In that sense, if I submitted a painting to a publication or gallery that looked almost exactly like a Luis Royo painting, it would be automatically rejected as a rip-off. That's why I try to use Poser only as a base or template, if you will, and 70-80% of my work is done in Photoshop. I am currently trying to learn Maya. It drives me crazy when I'm trying to create this image and I can't find a model of something I need for it.

Really? I thought doing that would just save the figure with props and stuff atatched, and not only the pose itself to aaply to other figures. I'll give it a try. Thanks for your help.
