The dpi (or ppi) of an image is relevant only for print or print-oriented software, such as Illustrator or Quark; Poser doesn't care except for the output value when rendering. Unless you are using its adjustment as a way of changing the pixel count you can ignore the ppi setting for texture and bump maps.

If you have it the PC Format free Cinema4D opened some .LWO files I had (on the 3DWorld CD that gave me Poser, actually) and it will export to OBJ. Haven't tried it with a 3dMaz file yet.

Painter pre-7.01 doesn't work reliably with more than 512MB RAM, so if your WinXP system is going to have that you may have no choice but to upgrade. (HOWEVER, my copy of 6.01 is currently cooperating under Win98SE with 768MB.) Transparency was a major addition for Poser 4, well worth having.

PC Format and (I believe) PC Plus have Cinema 4D v.5SE on their cover discs this month, but the serial number web page requires you be a UK or ROI resident. The program has filters for OBJ format.

If CodeTwister just needs the CR2 to test his parser, which I think is what he is saying ("non-working versions"), then surely that wouldn't be a copyright problem in most cases - it's only Vic & Mike where the CR2 is non-distributable.

VS You've probably looked everywhere already, but in Nero the option to erase a CD-RW is under the CD-Recorder menu and the toggle for locking a CD-R is a check-box in the write dialogue just above the speed selection - Finalise (prevents further writing)
