Ghastley usually puts readmes, but they're called readme.dress (or .harness or whatever) so they aren't immediately obvious
Thread: dud victoria character? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Could be that the file was created on a Mac and has the odd characters on the first line that I've sometimes seen - leftover resource fork?

Thread: Tailor to Freestuff? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Tailor is a stand-alone application, so as long as the OBJ and CR2 files stay the same (and by the way cross platform ZIPs are set up they do) you should be OK; I've just bought Tailor and in a couple of tests it worked OK on my PIII 450. Ah, it does need OpenGL support in the graphics - does anyone know if VPC alloes that? (My video card is an ATI Rage whatever, the PC version of the video for the original iMacs, so it should be there in hardware - just a question of whether VPC can access it.)

Isn't there a program called VirtualPC for the Mac? If so could you use it to run Tailor directly?

We've had as-definite-as-computerly-possible assurances that the exisiting items will work with P5, just probably not with the new features (or at least not fully). Since it will take a while for creators and users to learn the new stuff (compare out-of-the-box P4 with DAZ stuff, or good free stuff like Sergemarck's or Kozaburo's) there will be, at least, a period following launch when you are likely to prefer working with P4-style legacy items to the new features.

Your library files (CR2, PP2, PZ2, HR2 etc.) can go in any folder in the appropriate lib. without breaking amything - it's only the OBJ file that must go where the reference says, and textures can be a pain if Poser can't find them (but I stick mine in an item-specific sub-folder of a Textures subfolder of the library subfolder, along with the readme and licence files, and Poser rarely chokes). You can also rename these files freely, as long as the file and its RSR/PNG match.
Thread: Little problem with DAZ support | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Asked for the Steph. update Sunday, email with working link was in my inbox Mon. 6:30pm GMT, which must have been at least pre-lunch DAZ time.
Thread: Feedback to DAZ on Stephanie | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
VS If even 1% of the people who bought M2 for Steph (or in anticipation of the Mystery Model) go on to use Mike himself that's still a boost that wouldn't have happened otherwise, and I suspect the ratio will be higher than that. (And for what it's worth I bought M2 before the Mystery was promised, to take advantage of the introductory sale; V2 is still languishing on my wish list.)

There is a note about this from DAZ in one of the problem report threads, you need to write to sales@daz3d.com to request an update.

Hear, hear! I was expecting the Mystery Model to be a fun but limited use item, not something bread-and-butter useful like a new figure.
Thread: A few bumps in the road with Stephanie's bump maps. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The dpi (or ppi) of an image is relevant only for print or print-oriented software, such as Illustrator or Quark; Poser doesn't care except for the output value when rendering. Unless you are using its adjustment as a way of changing the pixel count you can ignore the ppi setting for texture and bump maps.
