Thread: REALLY NEED HELP WITH POSER! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ron I wasn't suggesting not asking about the update, but rather that we should also make sure they do actually need it (no idea how big a file it is to download but probably enough to annoy moem users, and people may get even more confused if they try installing without realising they already have it)

Surely a Poser newbie will already have 4.03 on the CD? Mine says 4.0.3.127 as installed, and I've had it for over a year.

Actually, at the moment she prefers to sunbathe under the anglepoise on the system box (an old-style horizontal) and, if I'm not quick enough, sends a stack of cover-discs cascading down the back, where at least one ends up nestled between cables and is a pain to fish out without disturbing her.

The ability to produce photo-realistic people and objects is in high demand for architectural and product visualisation, which can be pretty well paid.

Go to the product page for Mike or Vicky and look near the bottom, you should find a link for the templates
Thread: Creating MAT Pose files... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, my passed-on method would save a full pose file to go with the RSR, rather than a MAT, but as far as I can tell Poser just uses the filename to associate RSR and ??2 files so you could save your preview-ed version with a temp name, delete the PZ2 and rename the RSR to match your newly created MAT file. I hadn't thought of the drawback in this case, but it is a useful trick generally since getting thumbnails is a common request.

To save into a library with a decent thumbnail (not my invention): Set up and render the view you want. Display>Paste into background Use the camera mover (the four pointing hands) to slide the camera forward until only the background is visible Save your figure or whatever to the library

The original KPT5 didn't have a serial number, as I recall there was a registration applet which generated it, but I think the Corel version had one - there are some messages on the subject on their support newsgroup, server at cnews.corel.ca
Thread: Could someone answer a question? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Strictly we should be talking about PIXELS-per-inch, to avoid confusion with the dpi setting of our printers, but no matter how many times I am told I still slip back to using dpi as the general term.

Work out how big you want the picture, in inches, then multiply by the output resolution you want - Epson recommend 240DPI, try that or somewhere between 200DPI and 300DPI for starters - and that gives you the size you want in pixels.

I can't remember the exact details but I had "File not found" with no filename and no problem loading whatever-it-was some time ago. When I opened the CR2/PP2/thingy file there were a bunch of texture references in full path format (rather than the Runtime offset with colons style) pointing to the D: drive, which was an empty Zip drive on my system. There may also have been duplicate entries in the usual format - I can't remember, and I edited the file anyway, but something like that may be worth checking.
