Thread: Hmm... how to fix the library | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This was in a readme, I think for the Ooh Betty morphs for one of Kozaburo's hair models: Set up your scene, render it, Display>Paste into background (can't remember the exact name of the menu item) then slide your camera forward so that you can see only the background, all the objects behind you, and save your prop.
Thread: re-installing poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just added a second HD this week and simply copied the whole Runtime folder to an empty (reserved for PS scratch disc) partition on the new HD before uninstalling* Poser and reinstalling on the new disc, then copied the old Runtime over the top: of course if any original files were corrupted I've now put them on in place of the (presumably)good ones from the fresh install. * ... which involved reinstalling over the top of the original Poser, since SOMETHING had deleted unvise32.exe. Naming no names but I'd recently updated something and there was an unvise32QT where unvise should have been...

If you want to use an item repeatedly and it has partially unconcealed body parts sticking through you could always set transparency to 100% on the body part and use a transmap to hide just the awkward bit - as long as you could have the highlight colour set to black to avoid ghosting.
Thread: UVMAPPER and Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Surely you should be deleting the OLD .rsr file, so that Poser will create a new one using the new mapping? Sorry if that was just a typo.

I'm forever ending up with no transmap applied. It happens if, last time you had the materials dialogue open, you had "Changes apply to whole figure" checked and then you open it again with your transmapped object selected in the main window, and it has no transmap applied to the first material (which is often the case for "Preview" for example). If I notice I cancel, select a solid object, reopen and untick the whole figure box before picking the hair (or whatever) from the dropdown list at top left. Richard

Nah, If they'd had anything half as effective Janeway would be thirteen-and-a-half of twenty by now.
Thread: Free copy of Poser 3!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
These give-aways are intended to promote the full product, so there is invariably (he says) an upgrade offer in the magazine. As you are willing to consider buying V&M, and assuming you live in an eligible region (I think the Freehand upgrade was valid throughout the EU?), it should be worthwhile even if you can't find much stuff for P3.

told you to go away and stop bothering them They let me upgrade, but that was by phone rather than WWW
Thread: Problems with files!!! Crazy!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
And do you get an error message? Poser usually tells you if it can't find the .obj file that specifies the shape of a figure, and asks you to tell it where to look if it can't find the texture. You are actually starting Poser and loading from the libraries, not trying to double-click a texture or CR2?

You should be able to extract the files with Aladdin Expander, which is free, just point it to an empty folder and it should put everything in the appropriate subfolders ready to go into your Poser Runtime folder. I suspect though that you may have to add the file extensions by hand, and some Mac-originated files have gunk at the front - generally you need to open in Notepad and delete the first line up to the opening curly brace for CR2, PP2 and obj files - figuring out RSRs or jpgs may be tricky. http://www.aladdinsys.comThread: Wish List In Marketplace! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Which means that next time you will more than fill your cart with some of the stuff from your wishlist, and add even more stuff to the remainder on the list, and so on until R. starts charging you rent for the MBs of server space you are using - it's all a conspiracy!
Thread: After Midknight series (Engelken) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can't remember the exact details but I had "File not found" with no filename and no problem loading whatever-it-was some time ago. When I opened the CR2/PP2/thingy file there were a bunch of texture references in full path format (rather than the Runtime offset with colons style) pointing to the D: drive, which was an empty Zip drive on my system. There may also have been duplicate entries in the usual format - I can't remember, and I edited the file anyway, but something like that may be worth checking.
Thread: Could someone answer a question? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Work out how big you want the picture, in inches, then multiply by the output resolution you want - Epson recommend 240DPI, try that or somewhere between 200DPI and 300DPI for starters - and that gives you the size you want in pixels.
