Nice, I'm mostly unimpressed.
We have an infinite choice in materials//lighting...... sorry. But I'm rarely impressed.
Looks like what it is for the most part, Some get it right though.

Thanks for the link. looks like its had its day, summer heat cooked it. still I was thinking of UG to a 8350 anyway.

Is it possible to degrade cpu Ghz after overclocking? (4.4ghz @56C now 4ghz @66C)
My 8150 is not dead. but its temp has increased 10C, even taking ambient temp and drop in Vcore/ghz into account.
And I've reseated the heatsink with Artic compound.
Should say also thats full load.

Great.
I was thinking of moving to Poser and R3.
That said, I haven't used Poser for at least ten years. And I do like the Genesis features of Studio 4. So I'll probably wait for the Studio version of R3.

I'm pleased to see implementation of the volume parameter in R3.
For me, the lack of it in R2 for DAZ is my biggest problem.
It adds depth that was sorely lacking.

Meh, insurance companys are bad for the most part. I made 1 claim in 25 years, and it took 6 months to clear.

I've posted this link before, but I thought it was worth repeating. It gives some great examples of light setups. Especialy now we have easy to use IES spots coutesy of Charley.

Wow, fantastic. Thanks again Charley.
One of the things I like most about the sets is the grouping you've used. The abillity to individually adjust each light during render is a vast improvement. It could be called 'game changing'.

Messed up the displacement on this one. I didn't install the latest version of Lux when I updated Reality.

All super I'm sure.
But I'm underwhelmed. By mostly stupid assumtions.
Try understanding lght.
And if you do, claim it with examples. And hopefully you get it right

I'd bite the bullet and go for a numer of small mesh lights.
And if the eff is so low its impractical make them bigger, increase their output in Reality and decrease exposure in Lux.

Quote - Question for the light boffins: using a meshlight (RealityLight), is it quicker than a material converted to light?
I'd say thats a factor of the converted surface shape and enviroment, propbably the most efficient being an internal white sphere surface or white ibl.
Not good in photogenic character though. I come to beleive that attempting to max out efficency in lighting, detracts a lot form the image atmosphere

I've been looking at how much I've spent on this Daz studio venture so far, $1,274/ 1800 hours, as far as I can tell. Thats over seven or so years though.
Then again I still do not consider myself as well versed in the feild.

Quote - > Quote - If you post your postcode and house number in a render, I'll come and give you a backrub and massage
The back rub and massage sound good but will you take this damned flu away too? :)
Sudafed and a ponstan (ponstel US) or two works well.
