Well, I tried all of these things. Nothing seems to help. I still get a completely blank library window. I'm guessing my only alternative is to uninstall P11 and P12 and see if that gets rid of the problem

I can't point Poser to anything as the library window is empty. The refresh button on the bottom does nothing. All my runtimes are intact Including P12. I suppose I may have to reinstall as you suggest.

All my runtimes are on one drive in separate folders, and yes. it's blank. Nothing at all. Thank you. I'll post in the other forum now

Right, sounds like you need a script or a workaround. There are quite a few given for this problem at this 2013 thread, including one described as "foolproof".
I'll check it out. Thanks.

I've been using Poser ever since version 1 ( came on floppies) and I have to say that so far P12 is very disappointing. This reminds me of the launch of Fallout: New Vegas. Bethesda had Obsidian hurry the launch for Christmas. It was buggy as all get out to the point of it nearly sinking the franchise. However, the bugs were quickly fixed, and it became the most popular of the Fallout series. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the same will happen here.

I seem to recall that some older V3/M3 expressions are face morphs? Could that be the problem?
I don't think so. I'm working with the Millennium Teens right now ( Laura & Luke). The expressions I use that were bought do not change the face shape, just expression. I very much want to make my own custom expressions, but I can't seem to get it that it doesn't change the face back to default when I apply it.

Just my two-cents of suggestions.
Loading a CR2 file is, at least in the case of M4, among other things, reading the geometry file ":Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:blMilMan_m4b.obj". So, are you sure that you have this file in one of P12's runtimes? Is there one and only one occurrence? Mine is 7.43Mb.
The same reference to the geometry file should be in your pz3 file, too.
OK. Color me confused. My Poser 12 Runtime is rather sparse as the program has issues installing content on its own. I have numerous runtimes, including those from Poser 6,7,10 and 11. My M4 base is in the P7 runtime. I never had an issue with any version of Poser finding things in the runtimes where they reside. So you're saying that Poser 12 prefers that everything goes in ITS runtime. It would be enormous and unwieldy, which is the purpose of having multiple runtimes. Strange.

Thank you. It is already set to deep. I simply cannot explain it. The only thing I can think of that I did before this debacle is upload models from DAZ using the installer. But I don't see how that could cause this issue. I'm open to suggestions. randym77 posted at 12:05PM Wed, 09 December 2020 - #4406702
How many runtimes do you have?
I use multiple runtimes, and I get that error message when a runtime used in the scene isn't attached to Poser.
If that's not it, see if setting the File Depth Search to "Deep" fixes it. (General Preferences, Library tab.)
I'm not so sure deep search is working in Poser 12. I find it saking for any geometry or texture that isn't in the p12 runtime. I also use multiple runtimes and never had an issue unless I lost the file in a HD crash or something. I'm really starting to wonder if P12 was entirely worth it.

Hmm.. So that means I should always make sure that the file is at the first frame? The file is still toast though correct?
If the problem is you're on the wrong frame, moving to the right frame could fix it. Try scrolling to the end on the animation controls, and see if that changes anything.
Well, I haven't tried the scrolling yet. As it happened, I had backups of the corrupted files and they worked fine. I checked and all were at frame 1, so we shall see. Thanks for the advice.

for some reason, your file is getting corrupted. I don't know the cause. The last time I have it happen frequently, my hard drive was going bad. I got in the habit of saving incrementally (scenename1, scenename2) so I wouldn't lose all my work. I also had on the autosave to give me more options
THanks.. Doubt it's the HD as the computer is not even a year old, but still not impossible. I'll watch it. I never thought of the autosave. Going to activate it. We shall see. For the time being I will be copying everything to a stick drive for safety. THanks again.
I've also had it if my computer crashed while the scene was being saved, but I think you'd know if that was happening.
