Thread: Sneak Peek Link doesn't work, set up wrong or a mistake? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Perhaps a very hidden, very sneaky peek?!? :(
Would really appreciate having this fixed before expiration ...
Thread: FEEDBACK THREAD ONLY | Forum: Community Center
After playing with it a couple days I can safely say the only way I can deal with this is to "favorite" vendors and not browse the site. Based on the emails I may buy or buy not then, so vendors I don't got on my favorite list likely won't get any sales at all from my end. In the past I browsed quite a lot through the site, as one was able to get a quick overview, but that is not the case any more. Overall this "revamp" remains a quite amateur-ish attempt in my view.

Since I just learned that this is indeed the intended layout, I am posting the feedback here.
With all due respect, my shopping here will be limited in the future. This layout is pretty much unusable - it is unbelievable to even call this remotely intended. If those are "thumbnails" then Goliath must have done the web design.
Two rows of items and four items each row on a full screen Chrome browser is inappropriate and unacceptable. This marketplace is the only web site literally forcing me to go full screen with my browser - there is just no other word than unacceptable.

Edit: That screenshot is "Actual Size", not zoomed in.

To be honest, not sure if this is a bug or feature: The layout is way too large on Chrome / Mac OS X. When I have to turn the head while reading the web site on full screen and have to scroll an enormous amount to even see the first page of new items, then it gets very tedious to read the web page. Just in case I will also add this to the bug thread.
Additionally, IMHO, clicking on a product should not open a new tab. If I want a new tab I use the ctrl / cmd key to force it in the browser - as a user's choice. IMHO it is bad form by a web site to force a new tab in your own domain in this way.

Is there a way to make the marketplace layout smaller? It is way too large for my liking.

Hmm ... interesting, the converted clothing items that worked before don't work anymore in the latest release candidate ...
Wouldn't be surprised if they threw in a couple more obstacles to prevent this.
Thread: Is anyone using other rendering software? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I tried Key Shot 4 within a trial period once. It is a very speedy pure CPU renderer for Mac OS X and Windows and you can export via OBJ to it and then set-up materials internally. As almost all external rendering engines, it takes quite some time to adjust the materials. I very much liked it and the speed is within a bit slower than Octane margins on a decently fast computer only, but unfortunately the price tag is rather high with $995 for the base version even, so I pretty much gave up hope for that one.
As was said before, Blender Cycles or LuxRender are probably the renderers that are cheapest to try out price wise. LuxRender is relatively easy to set-up and the automatic material translation of both DAZ Studio plugins (I used Reality in the beginning and then switched to Luxus) is at least good enough for many materials. Note that these two LuxRender plugins have a very different approach how e.g materials are handled respective adjusted. Luxus tries to integrate fully within the DAZ Studio surface tab and allows also for direct, textual LuxRender definitions passed to the renderer, while Reality uses a separate window for material setup and a material database that gets filled by users of Reality. I never tried out Cycles since me and Blender don't go along well
Thread: How to, redvipers clothes? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Of course everyone else misses the point and, yes, if the others wouldn't have started arguing everythig would be fine ... IMHO you are arguing for sake of an argument with your o so dearest topic to argue against and that is rather pointless.
Thread: How to, redvipers clothes? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - Yes, heaven for bid DAZ should put 15 minutes of effort in to it.
Did you even read? It would cause more confusion since most "for A4" clothing is proper. You are argueing over a freaking non-standard freebie against DAZ.
Take a step backwards and gain some perspective. You are simply unreasonable. Yes, DAZ hates you. If people jump in and explain that DAZ doesn't hate you, then it starts to be a giant conspiracy against you.
Please ...
Thread: How to, redvipers clothes? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
The point is not that it could be done (no one argued against that as I read it), the point is it shouldn't and probably won't ever be done by DAZ as proper A4 clothing should be rigged for V4 shape. This is non-standard rigged clothing (in the very minority), so there is no point to adjust the A4 clone from DAZ end. Adapting it would cause more confusion as cloth items that claim to be A4 clothes are in the vast majority rigged to V4 shape as standard - which is exactly why the A4 standard clone is aiming at V4. As others said, if you use non-standard clothing deal with it yourself, but don't ask DAZ to do it for you.

Your duf file might still compressed, you should be able to uncompress it with any unzip-like utility. Quite a few editors allow to open compressed files as well and uncompress them on the fly. Since I am on Mac OS X I am not sure if any editor recommendation of mine would do any good.

Appreciate the sharing :) Quite surprised that it is that simple, but effective :)
Now I just need to hunt for some "simple" clothing pieces to try out a bit more :)
Thanks again :)
Thread: G2F... do you use her much? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I am using G2F / G2M almost exclusively these days and personally I think they add quite a bit concerning realism. I am also glad quite a few vendors started to create clothes, characters, poses and such for them. Makes me spend more money at Rendo as well ;) Looking forward to more :)
