It is very frustrating, I have so little time to spend on here as it is, and the new navigation is not working for me. Viewing the new gallery format on dial-up is pure agony. I can only hope they get the 'undocumented features' worked out of the system soon and make it more user friendly.

At the top of the forum there is a link called "my options". When you click on this, you are taken to a page where you can set personal preferences for the forums. You can upload a small picture as your avatar that will show up under your name on any post you make. I hope this helps...

Thread: Fractal Window Weekly! (May 15-21) | Forum: Fractals
Wow I have one in there too, Thank you so much! I'm actually showing a print of that in an art show/sale this coming weekend, I hope this is a good omen. I think the Fractal Window Weekly, and the Fractal Vintage Showcase are both wonderful ideas. I click on those links when I'm on dial-up and just need a quick look see.
Thread: To Comment..or Not To Comment | Forum: Fractals
Well said Linda.
I also think there is a mentality of "I'll pat your back, you pat mine" and I don't think it's always based on the artistic merits of an image, it seems to be more of a co-dependant ego stroke fest. (If that's too blunt or harsh for anybody, I'm sorry in advance)
I've been posting here for a couple of years now, and have always left the comments and ranking options on my posts. I'm not really sure what my motivation is for still leaving them on as the comments rarely influence how > I < really feel about something I've posted.
I don't leave comments on many images, I've always been a bit stingy with them. I tend to lurk around the fringes, and only come out when there is something that I just find so wonderful I need to speak up.
There are a lot of fantastic artists here, and when I have access to a high speed connection I spend a bit more time looking and wishing I could do some of the things I see here that I haven't quite figured out. I really do enjoy the time I spend here lurking in the shadows.
Thread: Community Survey 2004 | Forum: Fractals
I've filled out the survey, glad to give my input. The only thing I guess I can complain about (and didn't in the survey) is that they should have had a freebie to offer those of us who aren't using Poser. Maybe an extra post or two a day (on the day you fill out the survey)? I know - picky picky picky. :)
Thread: Buddy System | Forum: Fractals
Interesting thought, but I guess I don't really post here hoping to make the hot 20 list, or to get a lot of good comments. I create fractal art for myself first, and if I'm happy with what I've done I'll share it. If other people like it I am pleased, but if they ignore it or say something I don't like why should it bother me? Life is too short to stress over small petty things like this.

LOL! I couldn't even begin to count. I've been doing this little fractal thing since 1999. The work I have here at Renderosity is just a tiny fraction. I have approximately 180 images on my website, which is less that a quarter of all the fractals that I've done personally. This doesn't count tweaked UPR's from other people. Most of them are in JPG format, but I've recently gone to using TIF files. I'm storing many more GB than I want to know about right now, but I figure if I need any of them in a hurry for printing they will be there and I won't have to wait for another render.Thread: Computing power used for large scale rendering and script animations | Forum: Fractals
I have an Epson R300 and I use Kodak Ultra photo paper. Excellent results. If you want something in a larger format I'm sure there are places online where you can get some reasonably priced prints.

THANK YOU! I picked up XD several months ago and haven't really been able to get anywhere with it. I was thinking it would be great to have a tutorial or three available somewhere that I could refer to while poking around.
