But isnt it up to the poster to choose what target group they are aiming their art to? If I know that those that look on my art have support for png, but they have slow connections(Im very good at optimizing png images and wouldnt allow anything over 200kb to be posted) shouldnt I be able to post png? Sorry, I started with a suggestion and it turned to a discussion, not my intention...

i second that wallpaper idea. once a week should be kool with a new wallpaper, maybe as a challenge?

Well, maybe not just an ultrafractal gallery. a gallery for all sorts of fractals would be cool. there are fractals in 3d also you know, them should also fit in there...

generally im against your otherwise excessive banning on this site but in this case it seems to have been a really good thing to do.

I dont understand how this would work. I mean, there are already tutorials on these subjects in the different modelling apps forums(Rhino Carrara 3dsmax etc) so how would it work to meld these together? I think Teyons idea of just using the Character forum is great, because learning specific modelling skills are mostly for a specific program since the techniques for specific things are different in different programs. Like some programs uses splines where other uses lines, or where some uses hypernurbs other just uses nurbs. surfaces where others use polysurfaces etc... So i think the Classroom setting would be lost somewhere in the software jungle. And people who uses different programs to that extent that this would benifit them are a true minority. A high-quality Modeller often stay put and is great on one program and not so good at others. Maybe thats why you want to start this forum, i dont know...

Adaptec (Roxio) CD creator 5 can format both cdr and cdrw discs to udf format with compression. That way it will store alot more than just the 700mb of space that fits on aregular disc. Personally, if i could afford it i would go with only cd-rw because on the contrary to popular belief they have a life-span of 10 or more years. that is with the gold embedded records ofcourse... (no cd can last more then 10yrs without a loss of data so if i where you i would try to store them on vinyl or internet harddiscs since they are easily updated with no data loss.)
