The first is a new cross-hatching pattern i’ve created. This was done by creating a new brush with the criss cross pattern (with scattering options enabled), and then using the seamless painting option in Photoshop CS5. Each ‘click’ of the brush is on a different layer (four in total), with each one having a different amount of opacity (100, 75, 50, 25).

This creates an effect of there being less and less criss cross patterns as it gets lighter, and more overlaid criss cross patterns as it gets darker. It was very easy to make and works as expected, which proves the possibility of creating more free patterns post-release.

The second was a spontaneous test. I found some free manga brushes by Psychobob, one of which being a pack of “shock” brushes. I figured i’d take one of these, turn it into an opacity map, apply it to a flat plane, and then use it with the screentoned opacity option to get screentoned manga effects.

Considering the opacity map is incredibly small (223 x 220, the original brushes were incredibly small considering they’re supposed to be used in a comic), it came out incredibly well. Thankfully the screentone effect helps to mask any blurryness that might come from using low res textures. The character featured is Norota from DL-Market (about £9).

Nope. This shader was built using Daz Studio's Shader Mixer, and like all Daz Studio shaders features plenty of user friendly parameters for easy customisation. No coding required.

Unfortunately, shaders produced for DS4 don't work in DS3. Same the other way around (hence why numerous shaders, such as pwSurface, needed to be updated for DS4).

The Universal Pose feature causes more harm than good. I remember when I made my AniME package. I made the poses using BelBel, and due to a problem with UP they didn't work correctly with other A3 figures, despite them having the same joint setup.

If you go to the preferences in Poser 7, you can turn UP off.

And I think i've discovered the problem. The problem poses contain a similarity.

Instead of pointing towards the 'actors' such as "actor hip:1", they point towards parts such as "controlProp GoalCenterOfMass:1" and 'refractors'. They also include references towards things like the hat and a 'flower', and even Magnet Deformers. 'Actor' references are still in there towards the middle, hence why the figure successfully updates with the new pose before DS crashes.

I think the fact that these poses are trying to effect more than just the base figure may be the problem.

I think they should expand upon the morph brush tool to be a little more like quidam or Zbrush, as in you should be able to push, pull, move, whatever in any direction, therefor truely sculpting new morphs within Poser. The morph brush has plenty of potential and can be useful in some situations.

True OpenGL support...as in, renders will be done using hardware processing rather than software memory. Same with the preview window, so stuff can be done faster. And with that, real cel shading support, like the kind you can find in most games today. Either as a preview image setting ("Cartoon w/line, texture and specular" maybe?) or just decent outline settings for the render engine (again, like the ones used on Cartoon w/line mode except without random breaks in the outline and it works with 'smooth polygons'). Yep, my main wishlist things are basically 'more support for the toon renders'.

Yay! I am glad to say that models like Aiko3, Hiro3, Girl and Anime Doll (plus other figures which were named underage) can now be shown nude in the marketplace! The only underage characters now are the Mil Kids, Rosy Cheeks Lina and other characters who are obviously underaged (like Luke). Also, because of the new guidlines (i'm sure many of you have seen the e-mail with the new ones), if i'm right the bare minimun of breast coverage is now the nipple and aerola, meaning that if you're selling a micro bikini you have less to worry about. Of course, rules about nudity in the thumbs, promo 3, and of the buttox still remains. And this, the nudity guidlines in the TOS are now sensible. ^_^ Yayness!

But everytime I "edit" the product (like just recently when updating the pictures) there is no option for me to turn the exclusive off the product! It won't let me! It just says something like: "Exclusive? Y (cannot be changed)" Beleive me, if I could take it off I would.

I agree with the fact that being a rosity exclusive isn't good, and this is coming from a merchant. My only product is an exclusive, and I barely get sales. I still beleive that if I hadn't of marked it as exlusive (just for the banner ad...I was niev then I couldv'e had at least a few more sales on other sites. And I also agree with Ernyoka1's answer to the showing texture problem. If you really must sell items here, show the textures on an older character with the same UV map (in most cases it's unimesh). Otherwise, sell the items elsewhere. Personally, I would rather sell my items elsewhere. From my experience there is alot of agro when it comes to selling off Rosity. The fact that you can only use 3 promo shots, and the whole nudity TOS makes things even more ludecrous. Hence why i'm thinking of going the simple route by choosing another site to sell on (if i make any more products in the future), because there's no point trying to reason with the Rosity staff to change their TOS. As said before, they'll most proberbly ignore all of our arguments and just go with what they think is right (which in reality is silly).

What I can't understand, is why models like Anime Doll, Hiro3 and Aiko3 considered minors. All three of these models are obviously modeled to look like adults. Sure, A3 and H3 have a "young" morph, but that's only to make them look 18 (which is still of legal age). This is even more ludicrous with Anime Doll, a character with large breasts that can't be changed and large hips. Has anyone seen any minors with large breasts and hips? I bloody well hope not. Also, even if Aiko3 and Hiro3 might look a little bit younger than some would like, they have "realistic", "full figure", "muscular" morphs, shape deformers and everything which makes them considerably older. What I am requesting is letting us show models like Anime Doll, Aiko3 and Hiro3, models which are obviously modeled to represent adults and not children. They are grown up figures and you know it. Until this is sorted, any packages I make in the future will not be sold here, but at other sites which don't have such a ludicrous and unnessecery TOS. Only recently was my "Anime's Dance" package put on hold because the 3rd promo had extreamly small thumbnails of a naked Anime Doll (a model I beleive is obviously an adult). Thumbnails so small you could even make out her hands and breasts let alone any features that would make her offensive. Ofcourse, to avoid agro I have fixed it, but it was that incident that has made me feel this strongly against Renderosity, and has made me type this post. Thank you for reading.
