Paid: I use Mask Tools and Extreme PBR 2.0 (both from Blender Market) - makes texturing within Blender easy (though these days I use Substance Painter more often for final texturing of models taken into Daz).
Free: I use UV-Squares (haven't tried it with 2.9 yet but it works in 2.8) and TexTools - both really help with uv-mapping. And, of course, I activate a bunch of addons that come with Blender like extra meshes.
I'm interested in HardOps but curious if it relies on booleans and results in either many n-Gons or messy topology?

Hi Brittany, thanks for resetting it but I had the same problem again. I'm using a download manager, which usually allows a failed download to resume (and I've used many times before at Renderosity with no problems). This time it appeared to work but then quit at the end. Once again, it's saying the limit has been reached. Is my download manager using up all the attempts in one go, or is the limit actually just one? If you could please reset this again, I'll try the regular download way.

In the first post - have you checked if any of the normals are flipped inside? (I'm not sure how but I often end up with a few flipped normals here or there - this makes blender want to unwrap them flipped and the texture only looks right from the 'normal out' side. Just a thought.

Sometimes I think something hasn't worked but then I notice that it's still compiling the shader - so it changes to pure white in the viewport for a little while (seconds that feel like minutes 
).

^Not your fault - when I upgraded to 2.81, it also changed my uv-editor workspace to looking at the image editor instead of the uv-editor by default (and they look so similar it took me a while to figure it out lol). Thankfully, saving the new layout as default is easy to do.

^You only need a folder to contain the data/etc folders - traditionally this was named 'Content' by Daz Studio (from many versions back). Now they use 'My Library' as a default. Oldies like me still like 'Content' but you can use whatever you like. You don't need a folder named 'Content'
