You should only return the voucher on the condition that it be used to help pay for an eye exam for the person who ok'd the voucher in the first place. :P
Thread: Regarding the Renda Figure from RPublishing | Forum: Community Center
So out of curiousity I just looked Renda up in the Marketplace. Why isn't there any sort of acknowledgement that you need Victoria 3 to make Renda work? Why does the ad copy for Renda STILL say '100% NEW' when that's a load? Why can you still buy her without being informed that she is encoded? That's just insulting to the consumer.

Well, this was an extremely informative thread, glad you started it Ike! Guess this means I'll be packing my sketchpad and my digi-cam next time I hit the mall. And I'm about out of excuses now to learn my modelling software. Drat. :D ynsaen, thanks...you answered the exact question that I wanted to ask but was too shy to!

maclean, thanks for the input. I doubt I'd be able to do an exact copy of anything for quite a while anyway. The fashion industry is definately inbred- I mean, take a look at your basic jeans. They're pretty much all the same except for the name that's on the tag.

I'm learning about modelling and I'd love to eventually make clothing for Poser. I've seen all kinds of clothing in stores when I go to the mall that I'd totally love to Poser-ize, but wouldn't that be some kind of copyright violation? Vogue is a great source, any high fashion type magazine, and actually I hang on to old Victoria's Secret catalogs for the clothing (not the lingerie, I actually like the 'regular' clothing they have too).
Thread: The perfect poser machine? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't go too crazy. I don't think Poser can take advantage of a dual processor machine. But don't ask me for more detail, I read that somewhere. :/ I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Definately go Athlon64. I can't wait to get mine, I've heard nothing but good things about those chips.

Thread: Some thoughts about P5 hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm thrilled to see people working with the hair room in P5. I'm a new user and spent around 3 days of work just toying around with that one room, right after I figured out how to change the character in the scene from the default one lol It's definately under-rated; if you want a hair feature in Maya, you've got to invest in the $7k version (dunno if Alias sells their plug ins separately). In any case, it's incredible that such a relatively inexpensive program includes the strand based hair (not to mention dynamic cloth!)
Thread: 3DS Max so expensive. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Re: GMAX exporting files You can't export .obj files with just the free download of GMAX but I believe there is a fairly low priced plugin that will enable the export function.
Thread: What are the origins of your Renderosity Identity? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have been using my middle name Nadine on the 3D related forums I go to but it was taken here. Sinadial was derived from a character I played in EQ who had an unpronouncable looking name. More people call me 'Sina' than they do my given name. I also use Haranavei and Karsellyn which were taken from 2nd Edition AD&D rule supplements.
Thread: I know i can be flamed for this... ;) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow, I'm going to have to go look at the some of the stuff in the galleries now... I'm not really sure what to add. Maybe my background as a musician has better equipped me to handle criticism and to sift out and ignore the useless comments. Why anyone would get upset over some random stranger saying "d00d ur piccture sukx, more bewbs next time thx" is just beyond me. (You can substitute any sort of troll comment there, I just like poking fun at certain online stereotypes :P ) I don't understand why it seems to be necessary to sugar coat honest, well intentioned critique. One shouldn't be villainized just for having taken the time to offer advice for improvement. It seems to me that the galleries here are intended to be a way to display your work, and more importantly, get insight on how you can improve. Doesn't the comment form solicit helpful comments on how the image could be improved? If you're not interested in receiving those comments, or if you can't handle how other people communicate, maybe you'd be better off with your own website where you can showcase your work and not give anyone the ability to comment. In any case, when I finally get around to posting something, I would absolutely LOVE for people to take the time to look and offer suggestions. Hey, it's a lot cheaper than school tuition, right? ;)
