(Reposted because I was getting too many responses- sorry folks!) How about bust the the pirate? Warez violations are, as demonstrated here, a serious threat to our community. It sucks out loud that anyone can goof us up by uploading warez. Maybe a policy decision is in order: I think any ISP would be satisfied by reportin violations to the SPA (see link), and removing the offending files. I know, it seems a little draconian, but what else can we do? Any one else have any input? Another idea: who wants to host these files?
Thread: Poser 5 for Mac? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You guys, c'mon...
Everytime a product is released for the PC first, everyone seems to get there panties in a bunch and starts boo-hooing about how siad-software giant is slackening their commitment, yadda yadda ya.
Some facts:
OS X is a NEW operating system. Windows has been around since, well, the advent of plumbing. When they say OS X changes everything, they really mean it - and code does not write itself.
A large portion of the Mac Market use graphics programs - and people who make the software know it. see, they are in the business of making money.
Macs are a small fraction of the PC market - but this small fraction is millions of people. Globally. And they know it - it's one of those facts that people who are in business research.
I'm not saying that it hurts to express interest in the product on the platform of your choice - I encourage it. But this whole "poor pitiful me" business is just a pain-in-the-butt to everyone.
And you might enquire about dual-platform licenses. Many of us use both Macs and PCs (because the software will never sync up, or so it seems).
If you really care to do something constructive - write to curioslabs and inquire about the release of "product x", and see what they have to say.
Thanks in advance for not flaming me!
