Thread: Should Vendors be forced to diversify? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not really sure what purpose that would serve, other than to make content creators feel like they are trapped creatively. Â Just to clarify, by the way, "diversify" means to spread out, so I think you mean "consolidate" rather.
Personally, if I were pigeon-holed into making only one type of content, or creating for one figure, I wouldn't do this anymore. Â I appreciate the concept you are getting at, but I don't think it is a good idea nor one that is likely to happen.

After reading through that V7 thread, it was nice to get a chuckle in this thread :) Â (shakes head. Â "crayons and colored pencils", lol)

Alright, I'm sorry for that last comment. Â It was mean, and I didn't know you were being serious. Â But, after reading Male-M3dia's comments, I see that you are really looking for advice.
You obviously know how to move points around. Â In the case of the breasts, it would help you to recognize that they have lost the round, smooth edge loops. Â This would not render well, unless it was subdivided, and even then it would end up looking a bit lumpy. Â Just try to move the points that form circles on the breasts so that they are round once again. Â That would help in that area.
I agree with Male-M3dia about the face... she looks angry rather than feminine. Â If a character is going to have a bust like that (I'm thinking Pamela Anderson, or Chesty Galore), you want to have a nice, soft feminine face. Â Just try making your morphs a bit more subtle when moving polygons around. Â A little bit goes a very long way.
I hope you will take this in the helpful spirit is intended. Â My poor humor above was uncalled for, and I apologize.
Good luck :) Â Oh, one more thing, since you are using ZBrush... try masking out the eyes and teeth/gums, etc so that they are not affected, then use the Deformations/Polish by features. Â Just a small number, like maybe 5. Â See what that does for you. Â If you don't want the polish effect to go on the whole figure, just mask out the parts you want left alone.

Thread: "Seams" to be a problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok...I just finished testing my theory...it's exactly that! The seam works fine now. I simply used Lightwave to change the polygons on either side of the x-axis to "hip" group, and I didn't have to make any changes to the .cr2. It all worked out! Thanks alot, folks.

oscillator's reply made me think more about the groups. Just because I use AutoGroup Editor, doesn't mean everything was perfect. I opened the .obj in Lightwave and color coded all of the groups so I could see how they lined up. I think (and I haven't had a moment to try it yet, but I wanted to give oscillator credit ahead of time), I think that the hip group is not complete. In Mike's .obj, his hip group extends around the crotch from front to back, completely. My hip group stops just between the legs and does not follow around the backside. I'm almost positive this is the problem. I will let y'all know when I try it out. Thanks for responding so quickly, btw, to both of you. Your responses are just what I needed to figure it out.
Thread: "Seams" to be a problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
All the groups are matching the body parts. I have AutoGroup Editor, which is a great program for assigning groups. As for Jules questions, I used the blMilMan_m3.obj file to base the pants on. I import it directly into Lightwave and use it in the background to build my object. I'm assuming that is a properly zeroed Mike. I don't export Michael from Poser, I use the original .obj file from Daz. When adding bones, I usually use the "blank" .cr2 that comes with most characters, since it's .cr2 is not filled with tons of morphs to have to get rid of later. I was concerned that might be my problem, so I tried boning with the full Michael 3 .cr2, still no luck.

Thread: Creating full body morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! I have been trying for months to figure out how to do this. I should have looked here first. I just tried it on a shirt that I made for V3 and it works great...full body morphs. Once more, thank-you Slosh...

Good point, dodger. Actually, I could quicken the process by importing the OBJ into an Excel spreadsheet and using formulae to see if all of the parts match. Even being off my a fraction can cause things to be wrong. Since the left side is fine, all I have to do is make sure the right side is the same.

Wow! When you guys give a tip, you really give a tip. That's alot to soak in, and I will print this page and give it a try. Brycetech, my CR2 file seems to have all of the welds in the right order and with the correct numbers, but you may be on to something with the part-naming suggestion. It took me awhile to get the bear right, and in doing so, I changed names quite often, so that I would not be confused from one attempt to the next. In doing that, I may have caused a snafu in the naming section. I will give that a looksee first, then if no luck, I will go for dodger's old fashioned approach.

lol, dodger! That's the second time you've suggested that, but I'm afraid I have no idea what the old fashioned way IS. Can you offer some tips?
Thread: Materials Assignment | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I figured it out. You have to save your new assignments as a cr2, then go into a text editor and delete the extra ones.
