I've had occasional trouble with Transposer, so I can understand your frustration. But the trick is to not give up! Poser's a very demanding program as far as system resources go, so any program try to deal with the many-headed Hydra which is Poser is bound to run into a glitch or two.
First, try importing the scene with Native Import. I often find that Native Import is just fine for Poser Imports, plus you get the benefit of using Poser Poses on figures you import with Native.
If that doesn't work, try importing characters one at a time (with clothing on). Usually it's one piece of clothing which creates problems, so the trick is to narrow it down.
I usually import figures and characters with Native Import, then import background scenes and props with TransPoser to keep the lighting arrangements. That usually does it for me.
Good luck!
