This is my fault, in P4 a transparent material is shown as tiny dots, so i gave Kozaburo the idea of presetting the displayMode to vertex lines in the cr2 (hair is mostly hr2, but there is no difference in the file syntax) so that people could see how to pose and morph the hair properly. You can fix this by changing the display mode in the cr2 (it's near the end of the file) or changing it in poser (Display>Element Style or Display>Figure Style) and resaving the file. In the cr2 file (hr2) search for: displayMode WIREFRAME and replace with: displayMode USEPARENT You can also use specific render modes, but useparent is standard as it (obviously) uses the mode of the parent. If i remember correctly parent is the document style, or maybe it was figure style? Staale

If the model is mirrored then you just have to swap + & - in the X axis of the morph deltas to mirror a morph. P.L.H. can do it for V3 and all corectly mirrored models, but it only exports inj files so if your morph is going into a cr2 then you need to do some hand editing to get the data from the inj file into the cr2 file. Pozers little helper can be downloaded here, scroll down a bit on the page: http://home.online.no/~kjellil/Index-AllStuff.htmThread: INJ/Rem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Click on the link and read the basic tutorial, if you understand what it does then you should have few or no problems using the app.Things to remember:
It loads the entire morphed object, multi bodyparts, while poser loads one and one bodypart.
It's not as advanced as it looks, PLH has a lot of time saving features that increases the button count and makes it look harder to use than it is.
You don't have to learn how to use the tools (except the set-up menus), they are just for special cases.
It cuts 1 hour of text editing work down to one minute of simple button clicks and some name writing.
Have Fun

Oh, so that's what PLH is used for in character creation, i never understood why anyone would use my morph programme to make characters. I did a small update of PLH a while ago, made it properly compatible with Das Studio and added a 'ReLoad & ReMorph' button that loads and morphs the last used morph, helps speed up testing of original morphs. My free PC app P.L.H. morphs obj models and export injection files so you could try that one. It's made for large projects so you have to set it up properly before you can use it. Download it here: http://home.online.no/~kjellil/Index-AllStuff.htm PS. It also needs two old windows ocx files to work, you can download them on the same page. There is a hard way, you have to make an app that does it for you. V3 is an interpolated V2, the directly matching verticles can be transfered directly by asigning the correct delta number to them, the morph values for the interpolated (new) verticles have to be calculated acording to their placment to the non interpolated verticles in the original V3 model. V3 to V2 would be much easier. Just drop the interpolated verticles and reasign the delta numbers of the matching verticles. Staale

Winscape 2001: http://home.online.no/~kjellil/Index-AllStuff.htm But i dont have any V3 textures, but you could do some copy and pasteing to move them over to a V3 texture, or you could use one of your Mike textures as a source for the hair. Staale
Thread: PLH:Full object to morph injection Beta 6 released | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It looks more complex than it is, i wanted to do a detailed tutorial last year but a lot of PC upgrading got in the way. Maybe ill do it now. Basically: Set up a project so that the file references will work on other peoples machines. (see text in the html file) (when the correct project is selected) Load an original model, like V3 as original. Load an morphed version of it (the whole thing, not one and one group as in Poser) as morph. Click the morph button. (i usually set the delta filter to full before morphing) Click the Setup injection files button. Chose an unused channel from the MIC list (00-30 for bodymorphs 00-50 for head-neck) Write in a morph name (individual group names) and a bodymorph name (name found in the body part of the model). Click on the 3 save file buttons to save the 6 files used. Open poser load v3, find the morph in the pose folder and try it. All the other stuff is just filters and tools, learn them when you have to. When you know what to do it takes 30 secs to get the morph finished and loaded into Poser. If you are not happy with the morph you can fix it in your 3D editor, save it, load the morph back into PLH, click the morph button, and just save the injection file. Staale
Thread: Layered trans maps?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm nearly a month to late, but just in case somebody does a search heres the secret:
The model in message 21 is correctly done, but you have to add layers as a pyramid, 2 added layers gives 1 working layer.
L1 copy 1
L2 (only one copy)
L1 Copy 2
The missing facets from layer 1 copy 1 will be covered by the facets in layer 1 copy 2. (99% of the time, poser 4 does not have a 100% face cover, but normally you can only see the missing ones on the edge of the model, as a black spot. If a facet is missing then rotate the affected bodypart, a small change is usually enough.)
Bad points, it slows down poser a bit, multi maps eats memory and it does not work on P5 sins it uses a bug in P4's render engine.

If the thing you want to do is make morphs for V3 that uses injection files then i have a app that does this for you. It's free and you can download it here: http://home.online.no/~kjellil/Index-AllStuff.htm It's much simpler to use than it looks, most of the buttons are just helper functions. I have made several hundred V3 morphs and it usualy takes 1 - 2 minuts to get the morph into poser.

V3 uses a single vertex for group borders, this vertex is grouped to both body parts. My PLH: Morph injection builder can handle 10 groups and 10 materials for each vertex.

Does Penny have injection channels (empty morphs)? Yes: You have to make a MIC list of the channels she has (unless Penny is V3 based). See the Additional info at the end of the Setup Injection Files part of the manual. No: You have to add Injection channels to the model or use MorphManager4 to copy the morphs to your model. Adding channels is easier than it sounds, use a text editor and use 'find and replace' to add empty channels to the beginning of every group by replacing the group start with a group start that includes the injection channels. If Penny is the girl in P5 then she does not have Injection channels.

The app is easy to use when you understand what it does. Load an original model. Load a morph. (The entire bodymorph .obj) Click on Generate morph to generate the morph. Click on Setup injection files to open the injection export screen. - Select a Morph injection channel from the list. - Write in a morph name. - Write in a Bodymorph name. - Click on the 3 save buttons to save the 6 injection files. (Delta and Visibility files must be saved inside the runtime folder, pose files must be saved inside a pose folder) The rest of it is workflow helpers or special tools for special cases. * ReadMe that came with it is too lengthy with all of 'blah'. I am never able to keep track of it and read through it. Its a professional tool for morph makers. Without the Blah they wouldnt be able to modify the app to work with other models. Read what you need, if you get that the generate morph button generates the morph then dont read the text explaining in detail how it and the delta filter works. I wish Poser came with more Blah so that people understood how things worked before it was ancient. Morph injection is itself a tech that could have been used from the get go if Poser had a decent manual describing what all the commands did. How many years will it take before the first user understands everything in Poser 5? Will it ever happen? No one want to read nerd's programming book Its a graded University Project valued at 150% of a normal class. The head nerds decides my grade so guess who I aimed the manual at.

One of the options in the Poser exporter turns on and off material name export, if you want to use the material filter then you have to export/use an original model containing the material info. Staale
