May also depend on whether you install the 32-bit Vista or the 64-bit (both are supposed to be on the DVD). XP 64-bit has had problems primarily with the installer DAZ used which required it to be run in a restricted 32 bit environment (Win98 compatibility mode) through installation and first start until you had your serial number registered.
Since that stage I haven't had any noticeable problems running B6 on XP 64 bit though it won't recognize any extra memory the OS may have available.

As someone who got very excited about being active here when Bryce 6 was released, the PHP problems for the whole site meant I gave up being active anywhere on Rendo. Since mid December or so the problems I was having seemed to clear up. However, having gotten out of the habit (that had been just newly formed) of browsing Rendo, it's taken weeks for me to bother to check out the forums again.
Have to say I've had a lot of fun with Bryce 6 water and CP's turtles. Hope to get back to more Bryce things soon.

Pssst!
Bryce 5.0 is still available free through Download.com, and people are STILL getting serial numbers! Don't know for how long as it was supposed to have expired weeks ago.
Bryce 5.0 serial number means that you can upgrade to Bryce 6/6.1 for $39.95 in the November 21 to December 31/06 timeframe. Word is that as soon as Bryce 6.1 is released, probably early January the upgrade pricing disappears.

Have chased a big chunk of the problem to ESET NOD Antivirus. Seems it and IE don't get along too well these days. Eventually triggered one of the reports back from Microsoft stating "NOD Antivirus has problems with some Active-X controls. ESET has been notified and is working on the problem".
A few other people have commented about NOD AV doing strange things. For Iglohigh, it notified him Bryce 6 was creating a trojan when he saved his file.
Fixes could be a long time coming.

SKondris's remarks in several new threads should give everyone a lot of confidence that Bryce is back on track. Poor guy is just bubbling over in his rush to let it all out. He's even already complaining no one has commented on the new packaging for Bryce 6, along with a new DAZ Logo. Has it only been 8 or 9 hours since they opened the floodgates??
Little things like the fact they can now start developing a Bryce 6 SDK, something impossible for previous versions of Bryce.

A 6 month veteran of DAZ's PC Club. When I was snooping for Bryce and Carrara in May it was almost immediately obvious that I'd save far more on just those two products by joining the PC. Haven't regretted it for a minute since.
But I think the PC Deal only applies to 1 (ONE) copy of Bryce 6. I'd like two for the two computers I move inbetween. Purchased a 2nd 5.5 under the ArtZone deal for just that reason.
Also gives those who can't afford to make the move now an idea of what's coming down the pipeline to aim for.
DAZ has outdid themselves on this! Have you saw the new box yet?? SKondris is just bubbling away. The lid kept on the Bryce people until today must have been murder!

It's the threatened Symantec / McAfee lawsuits that I find more disconcerting. They both are now stating that hackers have more access to the kernel than they are being given. Symantec has bluntly stated that if they have to they will hack the Vista core to deliver the protection their customers expect.
Some word that maybe Microsoft is starting to back down a little, but with the number of judgements going against them in Europe, Asia, etc., the juggernaught is slowing.

I'll have to find where to umm "volunteer" as this is getting very annoying. Made some purchases today and have to do everything, including the downloads through another computer as the PHP scripts just stall.
If XP 64 is having trouble, I expect Vista 64 will too as Microsoft is locking it down MUCH tighter.

One other new item:
Darissa says she hasn't quite finished the Bryce 6 documentation and that the most up to date Documention will be online at:
http://documentation.daz3d.com/bryce/Bryce6ArtistGuide.htm
(hope I copied that correctly, this running between two systems has a few downsides).
You NEED to let a script run to build the menu. See:

The DAZ guys are doing an INCREDIBLE job of keeping things running and getting any minor problems fixed! And the download speeds are INCREDIBLE too!
By the way, Steve K. has confirmed that Bryce 6 may (LIKELY) has issues with XP 64 bit, and that the installer they are using DEFINITELY doesn't like XP 64 bit.

But some of us Win XP 64 bit people are still having a terrible time getting around! I have to move over to an older computer to actually accomplish anything more than viewing one page, close window, next page new window.
Other than NOD antivirus, everthing else is default. XP firewall, IE's Pop-up blocker, etc. The PHP scripts seem to lock up my browser windows (yes, windows as it can stop downloading on 2-3 other windows at the same time!). Very strange and so far no success finding a workaround or solution.

Quote - Wow, great price! Originally when I heard the Bryce 6 was going to come out I decided I would not bother upgrading (thinking it was going to be in the 100 to 129 dollar range). 6 BUCKS!!!! Oh yeah, I got it all and was still under $50. Now just have to wait for my download link. Didn't see the message about ordering the DVD seperate. Oh well, bet DAZ's servers are getting overloaded anyway...
Actually I was able to force payment on my order about 2 hours after placing the initial order. It wouldn't work for me for the first while, but eventually (an hour ago) I was able to:
My Account -> Order History -> Order #xxxx -> and down towards the bottom was a Payment Section. I clicked "Pay for this order now", and I was able to get it to bill my credit card, the download LINKS appeared in my Downloads AND my serial number arrived via email.
As for the servers being swamped, it seems DAZ was prepared this time and must have a major troubleshooting team onsite fixing anything coming up. I was able to download all the files (and there are quite a few if you get the Bonus Pack), each anywhere from 10 to 54MB in size at 80kps to 260kps in the last HOUR! Server's seem to be handling the load just fine for most people.

Guess another warning has appeared.
Bryce 6.0 and Windows XP Pro 64 bit evidently have some issues that aren't sorted out yet. Better double check if your planning to run it on XP 64 that it will be compatible for you (might have to check with tech support by the thread I'm seeing).

You need the Bryce 6 Bonus Coupon in your account to get the discount on the Bonus Content Pack (does not apply to the DVD pack, see notes on that elsewhere by the way). PC members and those who have Bryce registered at DAZ should have gotten the coupon automatically. Indirectly it gave me the Bonus for free (50% off PC member then the remaining on the coupon).
Think there are still more things in the pipeline. Word is that a new DAZ newsletter has started circulating with ANOTHER coupon in it!
